Modern dining room with ambience, we were in a large group of more than 12 and the service was efficient. Loved the food, I had a wonderful grass fed steak, cooked to perfection (rare!) and this is sometimes challenging in a large group to get right. Highly recommend.

I hosted my husband's birthday party here. It was the talk of the town. I hosted a dinner in the main dining room and then had a private cocktail party for our friends. At Bymark there is a private party room. We used that room and filled it with friends. The food service was great and the drinks were served... More

Four of us ate here one evening before a show at the Sony Centre. The service was good which it should have been since there were relatively few people there. We thought the menu was rather pretentious with a $185 steak on offer and not very original cocktails at $18 a pop. The set up reminded me of similar establishments... More

Had lunch at Bymark. Had not been for awhile. The restaurant was noisier than I recalled. The food (I had the gnocchi) was delicious. Interesting flavours and not too large of portions for lunch. It would have been nice if they served bread with the meals. The service was good.

My friend and I went here for dinner after reading good reviews. It was really hard to find the restaurant due to the lack of signage and small lettering. Also, the venue is huge but there was no one there. The food was good but the flavours are an acquired taste. If you are looking for unique flavours, try it... More

Wife and I went for a quiet dinner. restaurant was 1/2 full. But staff was overworked and undertrained - really spoiled the evening. The food was ok - but a real let down for the price. Mixed greens were unimaginative, and table us needed to ask for more dressing as it was sprayed on - so thin, the restaurant has... More

The atmosphere and the service was phenomenal! The food was a bit lacking in flavor, especially the main courses. However, the Burrata with Roasted Grapes was sublime! Definitely a restaurant with a romantic vibe.Seating was a bit cramped with the tables along the wall, but chatter was quite low so it wasn't too much of an issue. I feel as... More

We went for winterlicous and were not impressed with our experience. Bymark came highly recommended to us, and my boyfriend is a Mark McEwan fan so we thought why not go for winterlicous. Our appetizers were just simply not good. My main dish wasn't too bad (I had the salmon) but my boyfriends short rib dish was watery and lacked... More

My fiance and I have made it a habit ti enjoy Bymark twice a year, once for Summerlicious and once for Winterlicious. This was our 3rd Winterlicious and we both agreed it was the Best 'Licious we have had so far! I had read a few reviews prior to going and they were mixed. I started with the steak tartare,... More

Went for winterlicious - salad lacked any flavour - fish was great however the wasabi element was hardly noticeable. Dessert was good but nothing extra ordinary - expected more from Mark mcewan's restaurant.

Staying in Downtown West

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
