Visiting Toronto at an Airbnb close to Greektown. Walked along the Danforth to find Asteria as it had been recommended by my hosts. Super friendly service, fresh food and watched them cook my delicious pork souvlaki in a pita. Highly recommend

Get the saganaki (flaming cheese). The hummus was good too. Oh and the lamb chops and the gyros...i could've stayed here all day if only I had another stomach. Anything you order you will love. Very sweet people too.

It's not you. It's me. I have sampled a handful of recommended Greek restaurants on the Danforth over the years and somehow was never quite drawn back. I found myself with time to kill before a meeting this week and decided to have a quick...More

There may be lots of Greek restaurants on the Danforth in Toronto but Asteria is absolutely the best and most reliable place for great chicken souvlaki and Gyros. It is inexpensive and unpretentious and old-fashioned but it is simply the best. Everything is made fresh...More

My heritage is Greek so I was excited to see the reviews. What a huge disappointment! We arrived about 9:30PM. The owner/manager? Was standing at the door and invited us in. I was a little nervous that the place was empty, but figured it was...More

My cousin took us here on a night out. He said ignore the fact that it didn't look much. The clue is that some elderly Greek men were eating there. The meal and friendly service were outstanding. The meal I had, Chicken Souvlaki looked massive...More
