Visited 16 November, Host was very friendly with biggest smile, Chef did great job with the menu very different than most fine dine restaurants in city has to offer and food taste amazing. Cold cut seafood starter, mains and the dessert all had a great taste, presentation and cook to perfection. Server was friendly and knowledgeable, manager stop by to... More

I can't say anything bad about our experience. We enjoyed everything about it, but didn't leave there thinking "this was amazing," in fact we had other food in Toronto that we thought was better at lower prices. Can't beat the views though, and overall was a good experience.

Canoe delivers an exceptional experience, as always. The pastry chef even brought cake stands from her home to serve the individual wedding cakes we ordered. Our waiter and the sommelier were nice and attentive and of course the view was amazing!

My husband and I had just one day in Toronto (on business from Denver). I did my research and booked reservations at Canoe for lunch. Located high in the TD Bank Tower, the view is simply stunning. And the food is as good as the view.

...to fabulous food, superb service and stunning city views. Peter Oliver must be doing something right for his Canoe to be still afloat after so many years. Dress up, bring your wallet and best friends and act like you're worth it!

Gem of downtown Toronto. Amazing views and penultimate service from hostess station to departure. A small well rounded menu with daily specials with a fusion twist to Canadian flavors. The soups are delectable smooth and balanced with nice layering of flavors. Main plates are well portioned balance of proteins and nice twist on root vegetables artfully up dated. A must... More

I have high accolades for Canoe. Not amazingly memorable, from a cuisine standpoint, but very nice. I had the venison for my main course. Very good. Appetizer was so-so. Dessert, so-so. Value, so-so. Certainly can’t beat the view. Probably would try another restaurant next time I am in town, BUT, it was certainly nice. Thanks.

We had the tasting menu with pairing wines. The menu had just recently changed for the season and it was amazing. We had a window seat towering over the city and lake views. It truly was outstanding!

This restaurant has been on my 'hit' list for a decade. I am TO born and raised. Finally got there to celebrate my 60th birthday and my daughter getting her first 'adult real life' job. I told the hostess our celebratory night and she was kind enough to arrange for what I gather was one of the best tables...Southwest view.... More

Visited Canoe and was not disappointed. I always heard good things about it and we went on a Friday evening. Service was quick and that view, wow. Just beautiful to see Toronto lit up at night. I had one of the best manhattans ever, the absolute perfect amount of everything, ice cold, perfect. I would love to return for dinner... More

Staying in Downtown West

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
