Had reservation for 3 people, in the restaurant they kept moving us from table to table, food we order was burnt. They were going to give passes for the club only for 2 people, at the club they also wanted to take away the table from us as soon as we sat down. We regret going there and we will... More

We RSVPed as a bachelorette group looking for a fun start to our night. The ambiance of the restuarant was nice but especially crowded on the Saturday. Our server admitted that it was only her second shift of the job and it genuinely looked like she was trying her best. However the service was slow and disorganized. The website promised... More

Went for dinner on Saturday August 20th, 2016 with 5 friends. Been there before and had hoped it had gotten better. The upstairs restaurant was terribly warm and they had standing fans moving the hot air around. I ordered the garden salad and the steak dinner done medium. The salad had a 6 inch long hair on the plate under... More

The food was delicious and the service very good. The dancing and music was loud and lively and they have lessons for beginners at 9:30pm.

I went on a Saturday to celebrate a birthday. There was 10 of us and we were all very disappointed with the experience. The place needs better management. They took forever to get drinks. One of friends ordered a Martini and they didn't sent it out until they brought us the bill. Two of our other friends placed an order... More

We were at El Rancho yesterday and were very disappointed with the whole deal. You pay 90 dollars for dinner, a mariachi show, and champagne at midnight. Well from the beginning when you call to make the reservation, the lady that answers the phone is very rude and is awful at handling customers. The waitress wasn't very good, always rushed... More

I went to this so called friendly club that plays great music. It's definitely not friendly and plays average music and this is coming from a Latino! Firstly, the female coat check attendant is argumentative and disrespectful. She handles your personal effects with no care at all. If you ask to place your shoes with your coat, she's grabs them... I like this place very much, the food was delicious, the mariachi was a lot of fun. The service was great. I even learned how to dance salsa. The music kept us moving all night long. Returning there very soon.

We went here on the recommendation of a local and it did not disappoint. The staff were warm and friendly the drinks were fabulous and the food was some of the best Mexican I have eaten in years. Highly recommend it.

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
