I was presented with a plate of fish and chips. I thought this would be a safe bet, but o' contraire. Qualified kitchen staff would make a world of difference for this place. My fish was cooked in old oil which was too hot. Burnt on the outside, under cooked on the inside. The fries were cooked in the same... More

Very reasonably priced, especially for dt Toronto. I was staying in the hotel upstairs and needed a place to grab a quick beer and a bite before a concert. It was customer appreciation night so pints of Canadian were only $5! The goat cheese salad is absolutely amazing

I came across Gabby's early on a Sunday afternoon when the place I wanted to go had a lineup. Oh well. Gabby's is on the north side of Bloor just west of Avenue Road. It promotes itself as a Bar and Grill. It has a basic menu, in fact 'basic' just about covers the whole place. The place was moderately... More

There are 3 or 4 Gabby's pub type restaurants in the city and all of them offer a nice, comfortable English pub style environment for dining and you know what else. Try some of the interesting beers from local craft brewers.

Been here twice. Some while ago and more recently. It's ok. A notch above average. Everyone is pleasant. Food is nice, but not memorable. Still, it's worth a visit because for the area, the price it right.

Enjoyed a family dinner on a Sunday evrening. The large screen tv's helped to pass time while waiting for our food. Service was friendly and adequate. When the French fries came cold, a hot new plate arrived in short time. Burgers are our favourite and soft drinks are limitless. I found the price a bit high for this type of... More

I've gone to this Gabby's off and on for a few years now. After their renovations a few years ago, the quality was pretty good. However, it's been steadily going downhill, and after my last experience, I doubt I'll be returning anytime soon. While the waitress that we had was friendly, the food was sub-par. The calamari was atrocious -... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
