The mushrooms were fried and it kind of looked like meat. The taste was great. My partner and I shared a bowl of mussels... More

I revisited La Palette - as I tend to do when visiting Toronto - and all was well in the world. Fantastic atmosphere and service and the food was as tasty as ever. I enjoy sitting at the bar and it is a great place to do just that, although you have tables to choose from, as well.

This is where I go when I want a little taste of Paris, a dependable French meal, some lovely service, good wine (and a taste of a few sometimes), anything duck... but mostly, a little escape from whatever is wearing me at the time. I always sit at the bar, and it's equally as lovely on your own or with... More

Absolutely top experience. We stumbled upon this place after the cinema. The kitchen was open late (and open to the restaurant which we loved) Service was impeccable. Staff knowledgable. We shared oysters, had the moules and the braised bison short rib accompanied by an excellent Sancerre and ganache. Ended on the best lemon tart in town. We died and went... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Queen Street and West Queen West
Known as the Art & Design District, West Queen West is one of the most energetic and dynamic of Toronto's neighborhoods. Along with its great modernist museums, clubs, and restaurants, it's home to some of the funkiest specialty shops, ranging from clothing to stationary to collectables, and caters to niche and vintage shoppers of all kinds. That makes it a mecca for creatives, including hobbyists designers, writers, and painters. With ink on their hands and fabric pelts in their bags, visitors to Queen Street traverse the avant-garde blend of historic architecture and ultra-contemporary fare. Home to some of Toronto's chicest hotels and most modish java fixes, busy with street cars, and always suffused with live music drifting onto packed patios at bars and clubs by nightfall, the vibrancy of West Queen West is undeniable.
