Yesterday I found myself craving a good Steak Frites and Le Paradis delivered with bells on. I brought a reluctant friend with me, someone who is more comfortable with Pub fare than fine dining and I made a convert of him. The food was wonderful, tender steak, excellent sauce and lovely crispy fries as only the french do them. The... More

Went prior to concert--pork terrine was delicious, Cassoulet was correct and tasty, sweetbreads were just OK.

This was a bit of a celebration actually, and came at the recco of friends; they had never had a bad experience and that was good enough for me. Made a reservation a week before and studied the menu...... A short wait at the door and then we were seated. Two flutes of a sparkling rose arrived within two minutes... More

You can find traditional french food in Toronto. Things I like about this restaurant. 1 Food, simple and french. 2. The restaurant is quite large with three different rooms and a back patio in the summer. As such it is ez to get a table - tables at the front are reserved for walk ins. 3. Bunch - weekend brunch... Always a great meal with true bistro ambiance. I had the fish which was outstanding and snuck a few frites from my friend's plate.

Dinner with another couple very recently. Have dined here many times. The cuisine is French and consistently tasty. The service is friendly but not over the top. Prices are reasonable for Toronto.

Great food, very good service and VERY reasonably priced. The main room is the most pleasant. The surroundings are a little tired and the washrooms too small for the size of the crowd and more than a little tired. Nonetheless, I recommend it highly. The sides dishes are large and inexpensive. The mains are delicious!!! A friend recommended the place... More

We recently had dinner at this French Bistro. Located midtown Toronto, restaurant on a hidden busy street with ample free parking across the street at business location. The ambiance was trendy with a few intimate areas. We visited on a weeknight, we were quite surprised at how quickly the restaurant became filled and busy. The food was the highlight of... More

We keep forgetting about this place. It is only about a 10 minute walk away from Bloor street or Rosedale Subway - so it is easy to get to on foot. It is just tucked away in an odd location. The menu is small and changes regularly. The wine list starts out a little too cheap (around $35) as the... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
