The restaurant itself has a cosy atmosphere. We went during lunch time and there were only couple of tables. I tried st Jacques and shrimps gratin which was above expectations.

This was recommended to me by the concierge at my hotel. I needed good warming food having flown in from England that afternoon. The food was good (although If I were to nit pick the bordelaise sauce was a little acrid and the mash was...More

This restaurant is tucked away in upscale Yorkville but don't let the location or foo foo name fool you. There is nothing upscale about this place and others seem to know it as on a Saturday evening there was plenty of room on the patio...More

The service was 100% wonderful--not fast but friendly. The restaurant was fairly empty and the food was subpar. Also the club that has opened next store plays loud music which can be heard. The martini's were great but thats about it. Everything else was average...More

The real deal. Euro trained chef/owner turns out fabulous, authentic french classics. French onion soup to die for. Warm, fresh baguette. Beef tenderloin or duck to perfection! Sinfully awesome chocolate pate and personal french press coffee at your table. Wait staff ever present, never intrusive....More

We just had a variety of dishes. All were excellent, and the deserts very tasteful. They spontaneously prepared a little birthday delicacy, on finding that one of us had a birthday. Well recommended.

I dined here last night (Tuesday) with business companions. A party of 10, with an advance reservation. We were the only patrons, save a party of 4 on the patio. We were seated inside. I've just read several of the prior reviews. All seemed to...More

There is a reason why all of the award hanging in this restaurant are 20 years old. The highlight of the meal was the bread and the quaint courtyard. We ordered vichyssoise (average), Sweetbreads (chewy and unremarkable) and Mussels which were watery and bland. Service...More

Nice atmosphere but food is just ok. A bit pricey for what it is. There's better food nearby.

Description
Enjoy French culinary delights with great French wines. Le Trou Normand is the the longest established restaurant in Yorkville, Toronto since 1973. Le Trou Nnormand is typical la cuisine reginonal, rich and diverse mixture of local French dishes. Such as : veal Normandy, escargot, duck l'orange, sweet bread, also like venison, magret duck and so on. Le Trou Normand is named after the custom of taking a shot of Calvados (Apple Brandy). We are sure you'll enjoy the food, wine, and the service at Le Trou Normand. You can come for great food, friendly service or plain old nostalgia for Old Yorkville! We look forward to serving you.
