The French Onion Soup is a meal in itself. Generously sized portion, with lots of cheese topping and, surprisingly, chunks of beef inside. Perhaps because the soup was so solid, I was less interested in my main meal. But I found the Icelandic cod dull and disappointing. Not much flavour at all. My companion had steak and enjoyed it, however.

I have enjoyed lunch here on several occasions and have always found it good. This time it was Mother's Day and our family group came to celebrate the day with Brunch. Generally it was quite good...nothing special but certainly OK. I had the lobster cobb salad which contained the tiniest half lobster imaginable. Pity. I didn't know that lobsters came... More

Thank you for taking the time to rate and share your experience on TripAdvisor. We appreciate all feedback from our guests. Sorry you weren't pleased with the portion size of the Lobster on your Cobb salad. Each salad is topped with the meat from a half lobster - but the portion should be consistently about 4oz of Lobster meat. Glad... More

Eat here often and enjoy the food very much. Service is good and fast except when very busy. It's an older building so acoustics aren't great and it can get noisy, but not overly so.

Thank you very much for the 'stars' Timothy and for taking the time to share your experience on TripAdvisor! You are correct - acoustics in this 150+ year old building can be a challenge and we try our best to address it. We appreciate your continued patronage and look forward to your next visit - Cheers! We hosted a family wedding shower lunch for my niece and her fiancee at The Miller's Vernada and we could not have been more pleased. The service was exceptional and the menu choices, including appetizers and entrees, were all delicious. We didn't feel rushed and were able to enjoy this special occasion. Helping us plan the lunch was their friendly... More

A close friend recommended the Miller Tavern for us to get together for dinner. The last time I was there was nearly 20 years ago, at which time the place was basically a an old bar which served burgers and fries. So, I was quite surprised that she suggested that we go there. When my wife and I arrived, I... More

Great drinks, great bar staff...food really sucks! With the prices they charge for such crap, your better off driving further down Yonge St. to have a Big Mac at McDonald's. I live close by to the Miller and have tried it countless times, going into detail about every dish would require several posts. It really is too bad as there... More

This place used to be pretty good, unfortunately it has gone downhill. The decor is tired and the place is actually quite dirty - it's visible that a good overall wipe down of the place hasn't happened in years. Things hanging on the wall are crooked. No care is being put into the place. Beyond that, my impression used to... More

We have been visiting the Miller ( york mills location ) at least once a month for years now. Not your typical Thanksgiving Dinner but a memorable one, enjoying vibrant hosting from our bartender and meeting new friends visiting from out of town. Delicious steak dinner with excellent wine and some great laughs while enjoying the cozy yet bustling downstairs lounge.

We went for lunch. My chicken curry at 21.00 was over-spiced yet boring. It was just chicken covered by a boring sauce, with no other veggies and no texture or interest. My partner's crab cakes were satisfactory. The menu listing for chowder offered corn seafood chowder. We took that to mean there were two kinds of chowder, so we ordered... More

Staying in Downtown West

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
