Delicious sushi, definitely recommend the very extensive lunch menu - generous portions, all comes with miso and salad, for $7.99 - what a bargain!

Very hit and miss... I usually get the same thing here every visit sometimes it's very good but my last visit was not good. Chicken teriyaki was chewy, rolls were cut very uneven and almost difficult to eat, seems like they rush to get the food out when it's busy and the quality definitely lacks. Charged me extra for hand... More

This is one of a dozen or so casual sushi places on Bloor within a few blocks. It does seem to be favoured by the new generation. My friend and I ordered Bento boxes and, other than choice of protein, the Bento boxes are all the same with more and more possible add-ons. Not a bad thing, the meals were... More

Super awesome maki. Very yummy. The unagi was especially good and the specialty rolls were all great. Excellent post Pearl Jam late night eats. Highly recommend...

Bloor Street between Spadina and Bathurst is known as "sushi row", no shortage of sushi places. This place has been around from the beginning and is still usually fairly busy. A little bit dowdy in decor but clean. The staff is pleasant. Very affordable lunch menu...$6.95...with lots of choice. Miso soup is always hot, tea cups are kept filled. They... More

We ate lunch at New Generations Sushi in Toronto last Saturday and while the staff were very pleasant we were very disappointed with the food and service. We ordered Edamame and when it came it was over-cooled, over salted and soggy. The salads (house and Wakame) were quite good though. We ordered some vegetarian maki-sushi which seemed fine until we... More

The food and the service were great. I would recommend and go back there. It was very delicious and not every Japanese restaurant is as good as them.

It's a rather small restaurant in Koreatown, on Bloor street. The outside is not that inviting, the decor is minimalistic but the food is very good. I had gyoza, seeweed salad and 3 orders of sashimi. After travelling throughout Japan for a while, I have learnt to like sashimi more than sushi. The menu mentions 3 pieces of sashimi per... More

New Gen is your first stop for fresh sushi at affordable prices. Well-located, the restaurant is surrounded by frozen yogurt shops, bookstores, and other restaurants known for casual dining.

My friend and I stopped in here for a quick dinner before heading to some Pan Am activities. The service was lovely and the food was fresh and good. The price is right, too :)

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
