I had diarrhea after two hours dinner. The food was not fresh and the drink no taste. The waiter took away food and drink while we were still working on. At the time there were a lot of seats available.

We needed a rest after a few hours of walking and enjoyed a pretty high-end cup of tea and profiteroles at Sassafraz in Yorkville. Great ambience, service and and excellent pot of loose-leaf tea. I'd like to go back for lunch some time.

Sassafraz was lovely, with a few minor flaws. The dining room is gorgeous. Largely white with a nice water feature, some well selected art, comfortable chairs, music so quiet as to be undetected, no ridiculous large televisions. Very, very civilized. Conversation can happen. Oh, and no children either. Perhaps we got lucky on that one. Brunch was delicious. My friend's... More

We celebrated a BD with friends. Our waiter was a kind and considerate man who helped us with the menu and tried his best to accommodate us. We liked the atmosphere, the Beef Tenderloin was very good. Loved the Chocolate Raspberry Mousse Dome.

Good to the last bite but the sofas used for sitting are very uncomfortable! Service was average! Highly recommend the steak!

We like to make this a mandatory visit, everytime we visit Toronto. Great location, excellent service and never a bad meal. Perfect location and great choice of a menu, depending on the time or day.

The food was well-prepared and the service was pleasant and professional. The clintele was relatively upscale and appropriately attired for this level of restaurant. The problem, for us, was the menu. In all honesty,it is limited and most of the selections were not of our liking. We would recommend this restaurant to individuals who don't mind having relativlely limited or... More

Although Sassafraz is a bit expensive, I highly recommend it if for special occasions. The food is absolutely amazing, the staff are excellent, and the environment is incredibly serene. I recommend the scallops, they are incredibly tender and flavourful. This restaurant is perfect for those looking to dine in casual luxury.

Went her after a customer highly recommended it (he used to live in Toronto). Lobster bite and grilled tomatoes appetizers were excellent. Wife had scallops entree and it was really great, however, it it only three scallops so take that into consideration. I had the halibut/lobster dish and it was pretty good, but I feel the mashed potatoes that the... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
