I was on a business trip to Toronto with my wife, and we were meeting an old and dear friend for dinner. So we wanted something very special. I chose Scaramouche. What an unmitigated blunder on my part. We arrived early (6:30 PM) on a Wednesday evening, and the restaurant was almost empty. Still, we waited at least 15 minutes... More

This restaurant is incredible. Food is amazing. Service excellent. This restaurant is worth every penny. They start you off with a delicious amuze bouche, to go along with a basket of bread. I had the ravioli appetizer and the pork main. Coconut cream pie is mentioned in every comment for good reason.

The dishes were all excellent. A wide variety of classics available prepared perfectly. Very nice service and the atmosphere was outstanding from the terrific view we had to the great neighborhood it's located in. True fine dining.

The restaurant sits on a hill over looking downtown Toronto with the CN Tower center stage. The Toom is split into two sections, part casual & other part specialty dishes. Specialty dishes include meat, fowl & fish. Beautifully appointed room with gratuitous staff.

This is not a new restaurant, but certainly doesn't rest on its reputation as one of Toronto's finest and most expensive eateries. The food is simply delicious and inventive. On my recent visit the server was charming and knowledgeable, but couldn't control the long long wait for the main course. The place was packed, but still when one pays for... More

The view of Toronto is phenomenal! The chef certainly knows what he is doing. Always a very tasty and interesting experience. Also can be quite a romantic setting.

I can't praise it enough. People you take here for the first time will be so wonderfully impressed with the service and food, they will tell you that you have outdone yourself. Decor sort of outdated but the view of the city at night, the food, and the service is amazing. They have graduated some of the finest chefs in... More

I and some friends had dinner there last night. I have not been there in more than a decade. It is still one of Toronto's premiere resto;s. Service is flawless, the food is extraordinary and the view unparalleled. There are two sides to the restaurant, a casual pasta bar/bar area and a slightly more formal dining room. Both offer the... Awesome place to enjoy a night out (especially at the less costly "pasta bar"), or to celebrate a special occasion overlooking the city.

Description
Scaramouche has long been celebrated by customers and critics for its unwavering commitment to making each dining experience a memorable one. Chef/owner Keith Froggett's sophisticated cuisine is presented simply with care and attention to detail. The service underscores that philosophy: unobtrusive and respectful. The restaurant affords a stunning nighttime vista of the downtown Toronto skyline. These components and more make Scaramouche the singular destination it is. And the reason that the restaurant is consistently ranked as one of the city's best for more than three decades.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
