We stumbled across this restaurant when going out to celebrate my husband's birthday. We had planned to go to another restaurant nearby, but found their menu uninspiring. We were impressed by the decor, and were warmly greeted at the door. Service was good and attentive. Everyone one of us enjoyed the food and talked about coming back another day soon.... More

There are better Indian restaurants in Toronto. Food is mediocre and service is incredibly slow and neglectful.

Plain and simple if you like Indian food then this is absolutely definitely a must try, we didn't go in but rather ordered delivery, I've eaten at a lot of indian restaurants prior to starting to post reviews and grew up eating Indian cuisine that my friends mothers would cook and by far this restaurant is my favorite. I won't... More

This restaurant looks beautiful, I don't think the pictures I took would do it justice. It felt cozy and comfortable. And the servers, dressed in crisp white shirts, were very nice and welcoming. The food was delicious, hands down. I love Indian, and the chef at this restaurant did not disappoint. I'll definitely be coming back! Thank you for an... More

Visited this spot a few times and it has not disappointed so far. All of the curries I've tried so far have been excellent. I've taken vegetarians here and there are enough choices on the menu to please.

We had not been in Sher-e-Punjab for years, and I remember it as a rather dowdy-looking place. Friends of ours who live along the Danforth go here regularly, and this time we joined them. The renovated restaurant looks very attractive, and the food is as tasty as it ever was. The service is a bit slow and uneven, but on... More

This place is right round the corner and I love Indian food, the tikka masala is absolutely delicious as is the tandoori mixed starter and the raita is always great ... The tikka masala is medium spiced but with a really aromatic after taste ... Brilliant

Staying in East End

Neighbourhood Profile
East End
The East End is an eclectic amalgamation of areas that team up to make this district one of the most multi-faceted and alluring. Home to Toronto's LGBT community hub, Gay Village is alive and pumping day or night with friendly bars, nightclubs, and cafes – its thumb is on the pulse of excitement. For a more relaxed day, the East End has the largest collection of restored Victorian homes, and its stately streets, tree-lined and bursting at the seams with affluence, often sport farmers markets and street artists, epitomized by the effusive St. Lawrence Market. One of the most gorgeous of Toronto's neighborhoods, it also straddles Lake Ontario in an area called The Beach, where you'll find folks cycling and strolling along the sandy shorelines, getting some sun or enjoying shopping, dining, and pub options. For some fabulous food, the vivacious personalities running the restaurants in the East End's Greektown is only equaled by the fun and authenticity of the street stalls and restaurants at its expansive Indian Bazaar. 'Something for everyone' has never been so accurate.
