Very few Indian restaurant taste authentic. This is one of them. Located in little India, $30 can fill two people for dinner. Best tasting vegetarian food in that area. Its like udupi restaurant in Bombay, one of my favourite.

Being vegetarians and fans of Indian cuisine enjoyed simple lunch at Udupi Palace. Lengthy menu with traditional dosas, chaats, uthapams and curries on the list. Fast friendly no-frills service. Certainly coming back.

We found our way here as part of the Culinary Adventure Company tour, and we had a great time. The menu is lengthy, with plenty to choose from. Prices are fair. The staff was welcoming and informative, and the interior was clean and nicely decorated. If you're vegetarian, you can't go wrong here. If you're not a vegetarian, you can't... More

Amazing service- everyone was kind and the food came quickly. Had the spring dosa which was lovely, and absolutely adored the Samosa chat. I could eat that all day long. Why don't all samosas be chat?

Having lived in South India, this is as real as it gets in Toronto. The flavours are real, the atmosphere reminds you of India. YUM. Try it all.

We went with friends and we shared few choices to try more out of it. it was everything tasty, new by my experience, and absolutely cheap. $14 per person and it is really good.

Being South Indian, I find out most of their foods are tasteless. Cold idlies, watery sambar and average chutney (frozen coconut ) aren't expected in a South Indian restaurant. Service was okay, but foods aren't good. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone.

My visit to this restaurant did not go well. The biggest thing was the very bad service that we received. We came in and where sat at a table. The decor was very old fashioned, tables and chairs were old and rickety. We first ordered 5 dosas that took some time to arrive (which is okay). However surprisingly even though... More

I went with something different this time which was the veg thali and I wasn't a huge fan. I did get the pav bhaji though which was pretty good. I usually do dosas which are always good and a safer bet but there's definitely lots to choose from.

Staying in East End

Neighbourhood Profile
East End
The East End is an eclectic amalgamation of areas that team up to make this district one of the most multi-faceted and alluring. Home to Toronto's LGBT community hub, Gay Village is alive and pumping day or night with friendly bars, nightclubs, and cafes – its thumb is on the pulse of excitement. For a more relaxed day, the East End has the largest collection of restored Victorian homes, and its stately streets, tree-lined and bursting at the seams with affluence, often sport farmers markets and street artists, epitomized by the effusive St. Lawrence Market. One of the most gorgeous of Toronto's neighborhoods, it also straddles Lake Ontario in an area called The Beach, where you'll find folks cycling and strolling along the sandy shorelines, getting some sun or enjoying shopping, dining, and pub options. For some fabulous food, the vivacious personalities running the restaurants in the East End's Greektown is only equaled by the fun and authenticity of the street stalls and restaurants at its expansive Indian Bazaar. 'Something for everyone' has never been so accurate.
