We went there for brunch on a Saturday morning and it was a pleasant experience. I had french toast, although it was a little bit overdone the whole plate was good having fresh fruit and house made potatoes. My husband had steak and eggs and he was quite satisfied with the steak. Staff were very friendly too and accommodating. We'll... More

Whistler's is a sports bar. It is popular with people who want to watch football on the telly. Whistler is a family restaurant, it is popular with large families who can't control the noise levels of their children. Whistler's is no place for a couple to have a civilized brunch. Which is a great shame, because they serve one of... More

My wife and I went for lunch the other day - hadn't been in years. Excellent food and large portions reasonable priced. Friendly service. Great patio outside albeit on a busy corner. Nice draft selection and a nice ambience inside. We'll be back sooner than previously.

Could not believe how slow the service was on this night. Waited for over an hour for some wings and dinner. The food was okay but on this night we could not believe how long it would take. At some point , we were all set to walk out and we're told that there was only one cook working that... More

Whistler's is on a busy corner, but has a lovely outdoor patio and lots of seating inside. The menu is pretty standard pub fare. My chicken club was good, but nothing exceptionally creative or wonderful. The sweet potato fries looked good. Basic wine list. Full bar. It's a good spot for a quick, relatively inexpensive bite.

Enjoyed a dinner and drinks at the Grille before attending an event upstairs at the McNeil Room. I liked the deal of $5 beers during a Blue Jays Game. And I had their special at the time which was Surf and Turf. I was VERY impressed. The grill lines and quality of the 8oz steak was something I'd expect at... More

The food is good but average. But...the place has a nice feel to it. We go there on most thursday nights after our club meetings. Always a good time. I don't think I'd just go in to eat as a couple, although in the summer their outside patio is very nice, so maybe. Excellent place for a group, or office... More

Take a break from the food of chain restaurants and enjoy a meal at Whistlers. There is plenty of free parking and it is very accessible by public transit. In addition to the regular menu with plenty of options, their daily specials are always appealing and made to order. The service is efficient and friendly. My favourite is Prime Rib... More

Tasty food, but real slow service. Took way too long to get served at the family function that was held in upstairs room.

We were able to conduct a two hour meeting with friends on a quiet rainy evening. The service was efficient and unobtrusive. We were not rushed in any way. Menu had a good selection. Fish and chips was average. A bit pricey for the overall quality.

Staying in East End

Neighbourhood Profile
East End
The East End is an eclectic amalgamation of areas that team up to make this district one of the most multi-faceted and alluring. Home to Toronto's LGBT community hub, Gay Village is alive and pumping day or night with friendly bars, nightclubs, and cafes – its thumb is on the pulse of excitement. For a more relaxed day, the East End has the largest collection of restored Victorian homes, and its stately streets, tree-lined and bursting at the seams with affluence, often sport farmers markets and street artists, epitomized by the effusive St. Lawrence Market. One of the most gorgeous of Toronto's neighborhoods, it also straddles Lake Ontario in an area called The Beach, where you'll find folks cycling and strolling along the sandy shorelines, getting some sun or enjoying shopping, dining, and pub options. For some fabulous food, the vivacious personalities running the restaurants in the East End's Greektown is only equaled by the fun and authenticity of the street stalls and restaurants at its expansive Indian Bazaar. 'Something for everyone' has never been so accurate.
