This branch of Young Thailand no longer exists, instead, they've been replaced by Silk Bistro. Review - Young Thailand was average for Thai food. Silk: I visited the week they opened in the summer, they were still figuring things out - the wait staff were extremely attentive to me and the one other table occupied at the time. :) The... More

Decided to pick up takeout - food was very tasty - portion size was large. I chose veggie options - Pad Thai and Basil Rice - both were very tasty - and good as left overs the next day! Staff was very friendly.

I went to an old standby for dinner after spending a few hours at the Distillery Districts Christmas Market. The restaurant line up were so long at the market we decided to head up to this long established eatery to get some Pad Thai. 3 or 4 of the lights on the outdoor sign were burnt out, that should have... First impressions are important and when we walked through the door there was an overpowering smell if musty damp something. Almost like a recent flood had not been cleaned up! We took a seat by the door, to lessen the affect. Thus was a sSaturday evening around 7:30, that should have been busy, but instead we were one if two... More

We love coming here with colleagues, as it's right around the corner from work. The lunch special is fantastic value - under $10 for a soup, spring roll and full meal, some of which I usually need to bring home in a doggy bag. The staff are friendly, the restaurant is clean and pleasant, and it's usually not too busy... More

I had a late lunch here recently, and was surprised to see the restaurant practically empty. At first, I was a little worried as I haven't visited in years, but was very happy to see that the quality of the food was still very good. My pad see ew noodles came with a slice of lime, which gave them a... More

This is one of our favourite Thai places by far, it can't be beat. Their lunch specials are so inexpensive and come with a spring roll, soup of the day and then your meal. I always get the peanut curry chicken and mango chicken, they are amazing. Everyone we bring here loves it. Can't say enough about it and the... More

Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The food is good, but is missing the fine taste of what I'm used to of thai restaurants. Perhaps too much emphasis on speed.

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
