I simply love this hotel! Not only did I have one of the best customer experiences I have ever had in my life, but the property has a super cool vibe and it is in a fantastic location. First I must start with the customer service. They do it right. The staff is empowered to make decisions and they go... More

Loved the atmosphere at the Drake. Mix of fun, hype, cool but comfortable. Vast range of people from families, young and old couples, friends, etc. This place is for everyone. We went for Sat brunch and be warned, this place is BUSY so you should definitely make a reso if you ever want to be seated. Luckily we did. The... More

Excellent food and service. The potato pancakes, avocado sandwich, breakfast sandwich, blueberry muffins, and burger were excellent. Service was very prompt and attentive.

It was a lovely afternoon and the patio was open so we stopped for an early dinner. We both enjoyed a very tasty Caesar. My husband ordered Kung Pow Chicken & said it was the best he's had. My Bigeye Tuna Poke was delicious and then we shared the Drake Fries for dessert. The meal was enjoyable & leisurely. I'm... More

To my wife's chagrin, I normally do not do brunch. But today was special; we were getting together with family. Toronto appears to be brunch crazy. " I am sorry you will have to come at 1015 and not 1030 to accommodate you"; said the voice over the phone. And she was right, the place was hopping. No fear, we... More

Always love the Drake. There are 3 different areas you can eat.....my favourite is the sky lounge in the summer obviously - I love a good patio.....but the side restaurant on the ground level is also really cute and intimate. Food is delicious - super big fan of the sushi! The drinks are a bit pricey but every where in... More

Well, great place for a show,, but I'd avoid the Cafe, the prices were very high and the portions tiny. The crab legs were tiny and smothered in butter and herbs, couldn't taste what little crab was in those legs. Even the fries to share were tiny. We really enjoyed live music with James Blonde in Drake's Underground. Nice size... More

I was actually really disappointed with my brunch item. The Shakshuka dish arrived with only two pieces of baguette -- if you can even call it that. They were more like thin slices of crostini. You could either eat the polenta (with the spicy tomato sauce and baked egg) with the spoon or use the baguette to scoop it up... More

This place is so cool you will need to wear your thermal underwear even in summer. I love it and hate it at the same time and as someone who only lines up for washrooms, I never on principle line up for places where they are going to take my money- unless its an art show ! I should add... More

The Drake Hotel is located just east of Dufferin on Queen St. W. in a West Toronto neighbourhood known as Parkdale. The Venue first opened in the late 18th century under a different name but took on the name Drake a few years after the Second World War. After seeing betters days and falling from grace over the years, it... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Queen Street and West Queen West
Known as the Art & Design District, West Queen West is one of the most energetic and dynamic of Toronto's neighborhoods. Along with its great modernist museums, clubs, and restaurants, it's home to some of the funkiest specialty shops, ranging from clothing to stationary to collectables, and caters to niche and vintage shoppers of all kinds. That makes it a mecca for creatives, including hobbyists designers, writers, and painters. With ink on their hands and fabric pelts in their bags, visitors to Queen Street traverse the avant-garde blend of historic architecture and ultra-contemporary fare. Home to some of Toronto's chicest hotels and most modish java fixes, busy with street cars, and always suffused with live music drifting onto packed patios at bars and clubs by nightfall, the vibrancy of West Queen West is undeniable.
