Extensive craft beer list, excellent food, and great atmosphere. You can't go wrong with C'est What! I'd recommend ordering the classic poutine or the buffalo burger, and trying one of their collaboration brews. It can get quite busy, so if you've got a big group coming, you may need to wait for a bit, but they'll give you a beeper... More

We decided to go to this pub for an evening with friends. We ate most appetizers and they were quite good. I have a soy allergy so I could not eat some things but all tastes by me and others were good. Wine list was Canadian but good. Love mallvoire Chardonnay. Great choice.

C'est what is a great place to take visitors to Toronto or have a nice meal/grab a pint. The bar specializes in local craft beers, and has an interesting and eclectic selection which a lot of my friends have enjoyed. The food menu is pretty good, probably best described as gastr-pub. My favourites here are coffee porter ribs and lamb... More

A colleague took me to this place for a meeting. It's great! The food is excellent and the selection of craft beer second to none. I'm a vegetarian and was pleased to see a reasonably wide choice of things I could eat. The Moroccan Stew I had was very tasty indeed. This place is lively, fun and well worth a... More

This place is down in the basement, which might seem a little dark, but they've transformed it into cozy. Bear brick on the walls, an area near the fire for just lounging on couches while you sip and talk. Very comfy. The food is also good. Enjoyed the pulled pork tortilla, and my son did a number on the huge... More

We went there for lunch and were amazed at the beer selection. Seven cask ales? One or two is the norm. Then there were ten plus push beers on tap. Our food was fresh and delicious. The servers were friendly and attentive. The underground location, decor and fireplace makes it very cozy. Great place!

We ate at C'est What because we wanted to hear the band that was scheduled to play late last Friday night. We were pleasantly surprised that the food was very good, as was the service. We'll definitely go back.

C'est What is just one of those bars. You know, the one where last night's epic story began, or ended. It's a great place to drink, eat, and relax with friends, or family. There's lots of great staff who love beer, almost as much as they love working there. Local, fresh and always delicious. With so many craft beers to... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
