We had a great evening at Banu and the meal was a real treat. Our waitress was very friendly and explained the various choices. We told her that we knew nothing about Iranian food and would appreciate her help. The food was delicious - the kebabs were so moist and tender. We have not tasted better saffron rice. We will... Banu is one of Toronto's true hidden gems, whenever friends come to visit I take them here. The Torsh tenderloin is one of the best steaks I've eaten. Cocktails are unique and interesting, and the staff are super friendly. They really go the extra mile to make you feel like they're welcoming you into their home! I would recommend Banu... More

It takes a warm and giving heart to make good food. The staff are passionate about what they do, and the food is super tasty. They also have a meticulously curated cocktail list that incorporates classic Persian flavours such as saffron and sekanjebin. I highly recommend the cocktail, Bakhtiar's Revenge, a great fusion of chilli, Angelica and pomegranate molasses.

Horrible service and unpleasant hospitality. Arrived at Banu hoping to enjoy delicious Iranian food but was told that half the menu was unavailable when beginning my order. Some members of my party wanted the burger but was told that the kitchen was out of this as well. How do you run out of ground beef? Since the menu was limited,... More

This was my first try at Persian food. I was a little underwhelmed with the ambiance of the place, thought it would feel a little more upscale but it was still nice. The first drink I ordered they ran out of ingredients and could not serve, which I thought was odd as we weren't dining particularly late into the evening.... More

One of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had. I was here for a birthday party with 20 people and they couldn't accommodate for all of us. After trying to order 2 different mains, and them not having either dish, I settled for what they had. We waited for over 2 hours to get our food and it was brought... More

First ever Persian meal. I've been wanting to try this place for so long having been told about it by my Persian friends. Winterlicious gave us the reason to visit finally. With a discounted menu at $29 for three courses we had no reason not to come. I was blown away with such flavourful dishes nothing I have ever tasted... More

Came here for Winterlicious dinner the other day and really enjoyed the food! The drinks were also delicous. Service was relatively quick and the servers were polite. Ambience was pleasant, though I personally found the music a bit too loud. All in all an enjoyable experience!

I shared my first visit to Banu with a colleague last night and our experience was such that I feel motivated to write about it. We arrived knowing nothing about Iranian/Persian cuisine but we were blessed with a server who was very knowledgeable and patient answering our many questions without being condescending. This was to be a sharing dinner as... More
