Quick service, good preparations of Sushi ( what we had) in a compact restaurant. Waiting period of 15 minutes at around 12.30pm was experienced on a working day. But the wait was worth.

This tiny restaurant is a great place for a quick lunch with extremely efficient service and excellent food. Not so great if you want to linger a while, as we found out today when we were asked to leave. We were there for less than an hour, had already paid our bill and were preparing to leave, but my elderly... More

This little place is like a little hidden gem (located on a small street behind city hall), super fast and super fresh sushi with great service! I let my boyfriend pick a few things for us to share, when we left I was so full and so happy. Had no idea id eaten Eel for the first time! If you... More

I'll go far as saying that this place has the best rolls in downtown toronto. The staff gave us free extras! I always recommend them to my peers who ask for a good sushi place!

Excellent, fresh sushi. The best green tea ive ever had. The avocado and tuna tartar was exploding with flavor! The portions were a little on the small side, but the excellent taste and snappy service was well worth it.

It's one of the best sushi restaurants I've ever been to. The oyster shooters have a lovely buttery flavour. The moriawase has a great selection of fresh, well cut, well proportioned fish. The place is small and a little cramped, but it's cozy, and the food comes quick. The staff knows their thing.

I like their sushi a lot - great fresh fish, good attention to detail, flavourful creations. They're always so busy we usually get takeout but always worth waiting for!

Really expensive, really crowded and really tastey - the sea urchin was worth every penny. The sashimi may have ruined regular sushi restaurants for me, it was heads and shoulders above the stuff I've come to expect.

I'm an avid sushi consumer and the japango roll hit homerun for me. Definitely recommend. Soft shell crab was a little bit fishy for my taste though

Found this place on another site and it hit the spot. A real touch of Japan, crowded, noisy, but outstanding chow. Go early or you'll have to wait and watch others chewing down the great selection.

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
