For several years I have heard wonders about this restaurant and I salute Lyn Crawford's skills as a chef. She wasn't there. The neat thing about the restaurant is their one only menu each day - a unique idea and you can check online to see if it interests you. Our dinners were $54 each plus recommended add on and... Went to Ruby Watchco for a family celebration dinner. Imagine my surprise when what was on the menu was potato, broccoli, carrots and fish.....a meal I routinely make when I can't be bothered to put in any effort. Portions for our group of 3 were the same as the neighbouring tables of 2....very odd. Wait person had significant attitude. Q... More

My wife and I are here after a show and really enjoyed the experience. The fixed menu is a great concept assuming you like what they are serving. Check it out online before going. We liked that we didn't have to fuss over what to order, it just showed up! The food came quickly. It was very good quality and... More

We love this restaurant. The food is great, as long as you can take a "trust them" sort of attitude. The food is very good, sort of a tasty and modern twist on classic dishes such as roasted potatoes, parsnips, cabbage, and superb salads and fried fish. Dessert and cheese plates are great. My one gripe? Service is slow. We... More

After 7 years we finally made it here as part of a group of 14. The food was good, but I wasn't "wowed". It's was expensive for what it was and if I'm spending $100 per head I'd rather go to Canoe. The starter of Sprout Salad was OK, the steak very good, but the sides were nothing special. The... More

I participated as part of a group of 30+ individuals at this venue last Saturday and was very impressed with the whole event. It was a surprise celebration with a meet and greet as we arrived followed by the service of mouth watering plates that were well presented in an unobtrusive manner. The evening was an outstanding success. We look... More

The food is comfort cuisine served family style. My expectations were huge and the restaurant didn't deliver. We did meet Chef Lynn- really cool gal. If you're not a great cook and looking for comfort food and large portions this place is for you

Our family of ten dined at Ruby Watchco Saturday night and had a great time celebrating birthdays. Our waiter was great and the food was exceptional. There is no choice as to what to order so go online before you arrive to make sure the menu suits your taste. If you are really "picky" this may not be the place to... More

We were a group of eight on a Saturday evening. Nice looking place, decor was Mehhh. The menu is fixed, we were aware of, but we didn't know it was "Family style including the steaks. With a group of 8 there will be a variance of cooking level, but you have no choice, they have to all be the same?... More

Staying in East End

Neighbourhood Profile
East End
The East End is an eclectic amalgamation of areas that team up to make this district one of the most multi-faceted and alluring. Home to Toronto's LGBT community hub, Gay Village is alive and pumping day or night with friendly bars, nightclubs, and cafes – its thumb is on the pulse of excitement. For a more relaxed day, the East End has the largest collection of restored Victorian homes, and its stately streets, tree-lined and bursting at the seams with affluence, often sport farmers markets and street artists, epitomized by the effusive St. Lawrence Market. One of the most gorgeous of Toronto's neighborhoods, it also straddles Lake Ontario in an area called The Beach, where you'll find folks cycling and strolling along the sandy shorelines, getting some sun or enjoying shopping, dining, and pub options. For some fabulous food, the vivacious personalities running the restaurants in the East End's Greektown is only equaled by the fun and authenticity of the street stalls and restaurants at its expansive Indian Bazaar. 'Something for everyone' has never been so accurate.
