We went here with friends from out of town who "just had to try it". The menu is essentially picked for you, prixe fixe, with a few options. If you don't like what they are serving that night you either suck it up or come back another night. The wine list is small but with good options that aren't available... More

This was our fourth time visiting this restaurant and it has become a regular haunt when we want to hang out with friends while visiting Toronto. Our party of six was seated promptly and the food and drinks flowed from there. The portions are generous and the food is what I would call upscale comfort food. Very good wine pairings,... More

We were in this restaurant few years ago and since we like it, we wanted to come back again. Well , big mistake!!!!! Its like a different restaurant.... it was kale salad (no imagination), than we had steamed beets, steamed broccoli and meat covered in black gravy (my teenager can do a better job). The substitution was finished, apparently chef... More

This is hands down one of my favorite restaurants in Toronto. The food is second to none with a different menu everyday. Each of the wait staff is fantastic and they work together as a very efficient team

The food was the best I have had in a long time. The flavours and textures that were paired together - every dish was better than the last. One guest didn't eat fish which was the main that night but he was treated to a delicious steak. I can't wait to go back. It wasn't pricey for what you get... More

We had a number of friends and family members in town recently, and were looking to share with them one of our favorite experiences, dinner at Ruby. I'm always a bit hesitant to suggest a venue to a larger group. Often you will find that the service you received as a couple doesn't always translate well to a large group.... More

I went to Lynn's restaurant 3 years ago and it was the best food experience I ever had. So, my birthday day, the best treat to me would be go back to the same place. DISAPPOINTMENT galore. We always do the wine pairing as we believe they spend time pairing food and wine and they are the experts. So there... More

What a wonderful eating experience. Lynn Crawford's restaurant was a great experience, and a wonderful food accompaniment for out anniversary celebration. The food was excellent, and we opted for the additional dishes because we wanted to taste it all!!! Great wine pairing options too! I was also thrilled to meet Ms. Crawford.

Our friends Rae and Fred invited us to be their guests at Ruby Watchco. I had been aware of the restaurant for years because I live - sort of - in the area, but hadn't ever visited it. We - my husband and I - were in for a most pleasant surprise. Everything you need to know about the place... More

Fantastic girls night out. Food is exceptional if you are not too picky as it's family style. We have eaten here 6 times this year and will be back many more times

Staying in East End

Neighbourhood Profile
East End
The East End is an eclectic amalgamation of areas that team up to make this district one of the most multi-faceted and alluring. Home to Toronto's LGBT community hub, Gay Village is alive and pumping day or night with friendly bars, nightclubs, and cafes – its thumb is on the pulse of excitement. For a more relaxed day, the East End has the largest collection of restored Victorian homes, and its stately streets, tree-lined and bursting at the seams with affluence, often sport farmers markets and street artists, epitomized by the effusive St. Lawrence Market. One of the most gorgeous of Toronto's neighborhoods, it also straddles Lake Ontario in an area called The Beach, where you'll find folks cycling and strolling along the sandy shorelines, getting some sun or enjoying shopping, dining, and pub options. For some fabulous food, the vivacious personalities running the restaurants in the East End's Greektown is only equaled by the fun and authenticity of the street stalls and restaurants at its expansive Indian Bazaar. 'Something for everyone' has never been so accurate.
