This cozy spot has some great items on the menu - some of the best burgers in town, amazing soups, great sandwiches and more, the kitchen has often simply been amazing. The staff is always great, - friendly with just the right amount of attention. It is more like a sports bar than a pub, still popular with families, couples,... More

Stopped in with friends to watch the Jays. Lots of Tvs. Service was fine. Decided to grab some wings. Wings were good, ordered two pounds, with fries. There were too few fries, but the weirdest thing was the carrots, sliced and limp. Oh and no blue cheese. Pity.

I did not realise it was a sports bar...thought a pub. Hence I would not go back. No doubt a good spot to watch the Jays.

Great choice of local craft beers and mouth watering menu with organic ingredients. Have been several times, would recommend the oyster night.

The owners have completely taken this restaurant in a great direction. The food is so incredible and there are always new things to try. Best burger I have had to date!

I don't know if they were just having a bad day, or if this was normal. Staff were rude and the food and drinks took forever to come. Even after I ordered for the bill, it took over 10 minutes for it to be brought to the table. Hope this is not an everyday thing.

All you could expect from a local sports bar.. Sources food from local stores, including grass fed hamburger meat for burgers. Kids menu if you come early. Lots of TVs for wtching the various games. Local bar flies are friendly and harmless. Efficient service. Good quality food. Love the nachos and chili.

This was our second visit to Shakey's, previous visit was in 2013. Have to say that the menu, staff and beer is still as good as the last time we dined here. Another place for good nosh and beer in West Bloor.

I will be honest, we had stayed away from this place for a long while mainly due to being put-off by the guys that seemed to hang around there all day, and smoke out on the sidewalk, and the name of the place. We thought it was just a low-end boozer. Boy were we wrong! we finally went in one... More

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
The go-to area for new business start-ups, the spry and creative persona of the West End thrives along its streets. Its independent boutiques, galleries, restaurants, and shops offer brands that can't be found elsewhere. Buildings with ground floor consumer spaces sport up-top artist's lofts, and the West End attracts artists, designers, and fashion industry professionals to its living quarters. It is in the cross-hairs of gentrification, but still resisting it with ironic relish. Hot deals can still be found here on furniture and knick-knacks,. Its call to culinary glory is in its well-priced homemade Polish food, hosting Toronto's go-to spots for hot pierogis and cold borscht. High Park, the largest green space in the city, is a place for dreamers and poets to wander and rest, not to mention a number of energetic actors staging outdoor plays in the summertime.
