Hidden gem in toronto. We have tried the soup of the day (lentils) and it was amazing!! I have tried the burger and the caesar salad and everything was perfect.

Our first morning at the hotel we had breakfast at the Shade. The service was good and the food was good. I had the 5 pieces of Canadian bacon BLT and my husband and the French toast which comes with a variety of fruit. The combination of both with coffee was around $30 but considering the convenience of having a... More

We were staying at the hotel for a business meeting. We read the reviews and almost everyone recommended the calamari appetizer. Since we love calamari we decided to try the hotel restaurant. We were not disappointed with the food especially the calamari. It exceeded our expectations. Now the atmosphere was not inviting and the service was not very good. If... More

We ate here 3 times during our visit to Toronto. The staff was excellent and so was the food! Their hamburger on a ciabatta bun was to die for. Sooooo taste. I highly recommend Shade Lounge.

Took our young grandchildren for weekend to Toronto to see Disney Magical Adventure at Sony Centre & stayed at Ramada Plaza for weekend Jan 10-11th . Our 2-bedroom king beds suite (plus sofa bed) was immaculately clean, extremely spacious, 3 flat screen TVs, super comfortable king beds & linens, plenty of space in large living room for children to play... The restaurant is adjacent to the Ramada and lacks any kind of atmosphere. If you're planning to have a comfortable dinner out, this is not the place. (It feels as if you're sitting in a recently converted meeting room). We were only here for breakfast; the menu offers the regular breakfast options usually found in hotels however the food quality... More

I checked into the Ramada hotel today and mentioned to the concierge that I wanted to grab dinner that night in the Shade Lounge (which is in the lobby), watch the Super Bowl and have a beer. I asked if I should make a reservation or arrive before the 6:00pm opening time in case it was going to be busy,... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
