This place is a great hang out on any week nights. I was there on a Wednesday with some friends. It was busy enough but apparently Thursday is the happening night. We sat at the bar and ordered some salads and wine. It is laid back, and with an interesting crowd. The food is good, and service is good also.... More

We stopped here for dinner because three people we ran into on this trip highly recommended it.... Well, sorry, but I can't recommend this place based on our experience. Their wine list was strange, with low end wines selling for high end price tags... They offer a 2 oz or 4 oz glass of wine... Come on... Who actually orders... More

Pros: Food: a few items to eat while having a drink. We had a platter of smoked meat, which was more like smoked ham, for about 10$ and fries for about 4$. Their baguette is good. Wine selection: good variety. What we liked most is having the option of half a glass of wine for about 5$. We were able... More

We went early on a Friday night and got 3 seats on the corner of the bar. The perfect place to sit. Our server was very knowledgeable with a great sense of humour and the charcuterie tray (which we hand selected) was the best we've ever had. Next time we are in Montreal it will be the first place we... More

I'm afraid to write this review for fear it will be over run with people like us from Brooklyn but this place is a find. Very local warm and cosey place with EXCELLENT food! We loved the charcuterie board with a number of excellent meat, cheese, pate, vegetable options. The waitress was extremely knowledgeable with the recommendations and how best... More

Great wine list with many of the wine being available by the glass. i think the princes are very decent taking into account the functionality of the place, the ambience, the dj music playing non_comercial music. these guys are showing who they are thru their staff who now how to serve and party. I call them in potential because their... More

I had the fish, served over a purée and a Greek salad that were so delicious that I will have to come back to Momtreal to visit this place again. It was so good, that I am tempted to back before I leave town.

We were two couples, had never been to this type of tapas restaurant before. The server was more than helpful in explaining the menu and how the different dishes could be served. We ended up with a large platter of starters, full of all sorts of delicious meats, cheeses, olives, etc.. Then we shared the ½ Chicken. Everything was tasty... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
