Went back to La Salle à Manger for the first time in over 5 years. And I was quite disapointed with my experience. In general, the food was ok ... ordinary. But for the price, it clearly did not reach my expectation. I was accustomed to refine meals, beatiful presentation with attention to details. They have quite a impressive wine... More

Terrible, avoid this place at any cost! We went there for a birthday as a group of 18 people. 13 OF US WERE SICK WITH WHAT LOOKS LIKE A FOOD POISONING! They couldn't care less as they just forwarded our message to them to public health service. They made us do a survey in the group to analyze the symptoms... More

We went for the first time 3 weeks ago, we were 4, had a great meal, service was great, food was amazing, and tipped well We went back last weekend, the restaurant was not busy, but the service was not very good, the couple that sat at the next table, arrived 1O minutes after us, was served the bread, water... We heard of this restaurant from a friend living in Montreal. I don't think we would have selected it if not for the recommendation - but so glad we did. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but we checked out the menu - which changes every day (good sign) and it looked interesting. We had the best meal... More

We had dinner here our first night in Montreal. We loved everything! The atmosphere, the service, the cocktails and most importantly the food - Everything was fabulous. We sampled several different small plates. Our favorites were the beef carpaccio and the mushroom toast. But everything was excellent. We were only sad we were too full to eat a main! Waitstaff... Had a great meal of oysters, charcuterie, and venison carpaccio. It was presented in a beautiful way. My waiter did a good job and I tipped accordingly but the owner hounded me for more tips as I was paying. I tipped what I know is basic for the service I received percentage wise but he interjected saying how I should... More

We brought our three children to Salle a Manger and had an amazing experience. The staff made numerous recommendations for food, wine, etc. and we were not disappointed with any of their choices. The menu is diverse and amazing and the service and preparation were perfect. The standard menu is enhanced by a selection of daily specials on a chalkboard.... More

We went for a nice family supper with children. The menu was varied and very interesting, vegetables plates, duck, rabbit, fresh fish, great salads and varied homemade dessert. It was a bit noisy because big groups were gathering, bachelorette party but food was full of flavor and well spiced.

Our hotel (Like A Hotel), recommended this place. We wanted something with some Quebec flare and unique offerings so we went here. This restaurant isn't very big and the menu doesn't have a lot...which I consider a good thing! Too many restaurants can overwhelm with their variety. They have both English and French menus which is fantastic for an silly... More

Last night we enjoyed one of the best meals we have ever eaten in Montreal. We started with salmon crudo appetizer and a bowl of the chilled asparagus soup with nordic shrimp. Both were absolutely delicious. We paired this with a Hill Farmstead Dorthy Pale Ale. Just when we thought the meal could not get any better the main courses... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
