We stumbled upon this restaurant while out shopping on a Saturday. The interior has vintage decor and there is outdoor seating available. We ate indoors and ordered off the lunch menu, although they have a great Brunch menu as well. They have crepes, salads, sandwiches - pretty much anything you could want for lunch. They even have dessert crepes and... More

Such a great variety of hot chocolate, I was in chocolate heaven there! My favorite was the le Dalmatian. They have a nice selection of crepes as well. Also the place is super cute and cozy.

Inside, this place has a vintage decor and is really cute with a great atmosphere. I am always happy with the food. I've stopped by for dessert previously, but mostly for brunch. The dessert is excellent and the hot chocolates pretty special. The brunch menu is great, I highly recommend the "Drolet". The brunch plates are big with small portions... More

It's a great & cozy coffee, tea and hot chocolate plus desert location. Perfect for a weekend coffee crawl. The staff is friendly and the prices are fair. Although it's crowded and that it takes time for the waiters to clear the table, it's a nice place to try. The Dalmatian hot chocolate was excellent. I went in with the... More

We visited in the midst of a snow storm and found the atmosphere cozy and welcoming. The sandwich brunch and hot chocolates were incredible. Their bread is so flavorful and our waiter was very helpful and personable. The whole experience was a pleasure!

We went in for lunch which took a long time, but the coffee, the ham-on-baguette sandwich & salad and the chevre, pesto and tomato crèpe were more than worth the wait! A most savoury stop in a little restaurant that we found most rewarding. Strong recommendation!

The experience was easy, and very friendly, serving up the best cup of hot chocolate to grace my lips, ever. We didn't get a chance to sit, and relax, but the space felt very inviting to do so.

5 stars for the hot chocolate! Tried different ones, always delicious and perfect. Also, crew is super nice and interior decoration reminds me of my country. And the kids always want to stop here when we come back from ice skating at parc Lafontaine.

Au festin de Babette was the first restaurant we tried upon arriving at our Montreal destination. We chose the café because the terrace in front was inviting and we were hungry. The menu selection included salads, crepes, sandwiches, quiches, and, of course, great desserts. I chose a shrimp and avocado salad that was excellent and my husband enjoyed a substantial... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
