We thoroughly enjoyed an exquisite meal!!! Superb service, beautiful, sophisticated yet incredibly warm and welcoming atmosphere. The entire meal (experience) was so pleasurable. The menu has something for everyone!!!! Buffalo Mozzarella and tomatoe salad with a drizzle of balsamic was delish!!! Veggie and sausage (I don't remember the name) app had bold flavours, and a medley of wonderful veggies. I... More

I have been invited for a bday party. About 25 people that we have waited forever to start the serving and not even bread on the table. Nice wine list but did not have the wine I ordered. Had a salad, put my own dressing. Ordered veal chop with not a grain of salt or pepper. Nice place but the... More

I chose this place as it was within walking distance from our hotel, had mostly decent reviews, an extensive menu and reasonable prices. The decor was lovely and the food was quite good. My husband chose simple fare: the mixed salad and the cannelloni but both were well done. I chose the Medusa style salmon that had different flavours than... More

On a recent visit to Montreal to participate in the World Poker Tour, we had an evening off to enjoy some of what Montreal has to offer. A colleague, working in the city had heard of La Medusa and made a reservation. Upon entering to the right, once inside the front door, you seemed to be in a wine cellar... More

We had a reservation on hockey night. We walked in ON TIME to be greeted by a mass of people waiting to be seated. After 20 minutes waiting at the door, I went to see someone, anyone, to be seated. I was rudely told to wait. After another 10 minutes, I went, again, so see the owner, who them explained... More

I didn't know what to expect. This was my first time dining at a 5 star restaurant. I made a reservation online for three, me and my two kids. I was delayed travelling back to the city and called to ask if my reservation could be pushed back. I was accommodated without hesitation and reassured with a pleasant attitude. Once... More

Our last night in Montreal we were tired after walking 5 days and nights and didn't want to walk far for dinner. So we walked about 4 doors away from the Best Western Europa. We made the right choice. When we walked in we felt welcomed immediately. The staff were so friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Paolo was fabulous and made... More

This will be a mixed review at best. First, I will say the food here was excellent. I had veal parmigiana with a veal chop as opposed to cutlet. It was cooked to perfection and the pasta and sauce were delicious. My wife had lasagna with a white sauce, as opposed to the traditional red. She said it was amazing.... More

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
