Took the team out for a quick lunch. Situated on McGill St.,the restaurant serves British style pub food. Cramped and a bit noisy at lunch, but that's to be expected during that time period.

Heading to the Habs game, we decided to stop in the Brit & Chips for a quick. We were in & out in just over a 1/2 hour. The service was friendly and helpful. We decided to have the Sour cream & onion sole and the Maple syrup Haddock, both were fantastic. Loved the subtle sweetness from the maple. Can't... More

Not too shabby for a quick bite! I had the Chicken and Leek pie, my husband had the fish special. Pretty decent, overall!

Decided to check out Brit and Chips after a day of walking around the Vieux Port and downtown Montreal. This place is hidden away in lower McGill Street...blink and you might miss it. Most of it is counter seating with a few double tables and one four-seater way in the back. Their specialty is obviously British-style fish and chips and... More

Best fish & chips we've ever had. Small cozy little place with phenomenal pub fare. Friendly staff, crispy hot batter with moist and flaky fish! A must go when visiting Montreal!

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
