Great food! We went on a sunday night to this cozy spot on the Plateau. The food was simply amazing, the staff was friendly and professional. The only downside was the music that seemed to switch styles every 30 minutes and would get progressively louder by the time we left they were playing variations of hip-hop. Not the best selection... Mediocre food, overpriced, very slow service, don't go unless you have 4 hours to kill. There are much better french restaurants/bistro on Montreal.

I had been told that the food was excellent, and it was. All the dishes we ordered were original and very tasteful. However the restaurant was as noisy as a bar, which is not my idea of an enjoyable meal. In addition the music was too loud and the other guests were rowdy. I won't be back unless when I... More

We had the chance to be a group of 10 kid-free parents for a night out of freedom. We were at the big table on the second floor. Fantastic night and food exceeded my already hipped expectations. Our server was discreet and efficient, allowing us to enjoy our non-interrupted discussions for an evening of great fun and let the evening... More

A friend took me to this restaurant during the Montréal à table festival. It was a three course menu with two to three choices per course. As starters I had the pumpkin soup, then the fish, and finally the coconut cake. I also had their saint-péché cocktail. Everything was perfect, fresh, and tasty, as well as greatly timed. The portions... More

Difficult to write a review in some respects as the occasion and food was not particularly memorable, it was quite expensive and I think I might have left still hungry. I feel the restaurant is too much style over substance. Perfectly decent eating area, and nice ambiance. Not much to say about that. I had the bison tartare which I'm... More

Visited Chez Victoire with family for dinner. It was a Monday night so the restaurant was quiet but service was attentive and food excellent. Reasonably priced too. Would visit again

This is one of my favorite spots. First, the layout makes it fantastic for both couples who want to share an intimate meal in a booth and for friends who want to share a meal by the beautiful wood bar. Then, their wine selection is always appealing, with private imports allowing you to make tasty discoveries. Lastly, the chef is... More

A friend and I came here for dinner after reading excellent reviews online. The restaurant was lovely and the food was wonderful. We opted for the tasting menu which was 3 courses plus dessert. Dinner was a steal at $45, but since it was Sunday, it was only $30 making it an unbelievable value.

We arrived without a reservation and were seated right away. You can tell it's a local favorite, people at the bar enjoying company and conversation after work. Extensive and excellent wine options from around the world. The smoked trout with green beans and green curry was excellent and the lobster risotto creamy and delightful (probably could have ordered the starter... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
