Bottom line the food is fantastic. Great choice of appetizers. In addition to the regular menu you have specials of the day. You can bring your favorite wine with you. We brought a bottle of champagne and white wine. The deserts are great. There are lots of great restaurants in Montreal but if you are in the west end you... More

Owned by a young couple this 1843 building has a lot of charm and warmth. Great food and a very limited amount of seating you must book up to 30 days in advance to get to taste their magnificent food. I believe a maximum 40 ish seats?

A small menu and a board of "specials" makes choosing easy but I was already pre-warned the lamb was exceptional. Selections made by our group of six included appetizers of scallops, crab cakes, Caesar salad, soup and salad of the day. Main courses of rack of lamb, lamb sirloin, sirloin steak and one other I believe was chicken. Our dessert... More

This place is fantastic! Getting a reservation is the only problem. I have waited as long as 3 months to get in. But totally worth the wait. The menu changes so It is kind of hard to tell you what to order. The shrimp appetizer was so good I would have licked the plate. My husband had the trout table... More

As someone who has eaten in restaurants on six continents, I have a fairly good baseline. In my opinion, Montreal is the best place to eat in North America (except maybe NYC). I now have a new favorite in Montreal. My experience at Bistro 1843 was the kind of thing you remember for years. The food and atmosphere were great.... More

simply excellent, quality, service, ambiance, there are no comparables. reservations must be made several months in advance for larger tables - it's worth the wait. Bring your own wine is a nice feature. Can't wait till my next visit.

The entire restaurant was reserved for a birthday party. With a capacity of only 55-60 people, it was reserved 4 months in advance. The wait was well worth it. Decor is homestead with the most comfortable chairs. Menu is limited but every item is flavourful and no skimpy portions here..Salad was very tasty. I had steak with the reduction of... More

Located in Ile Bizard (west island of MTL) in a charming heritage home, this resto is family run - the wife is the hostess while the husband is the chef. There are only about 10 tables or so, thus reservations are a must. Reservations are typically required about 3 months in advance, but we assure you that it is worth... More

It is true that reservations are hard to come by, but they are certainly worth the wait. It is a very small restaurant that holds about 30 people. They only do one sitting so there is no one pushing you to order to flip the table. This is a husband/wife run operation, and I must say it is very well... More

The best French cuisine in the West Island. Must make reservations a few months in advance because it's not a big fancy restaurant. Operated by a husband and wife team and the good thing is you can bring your own wine. Highly recommend this restaurant if you can make reservations.
