Cacao70 is my go to place for waffles and ice cream. The waffle is so perfectly made and melts in your mouth.(just by writing about it I'm craving it) Nice place, not too loud and you can have a decent conversation without feeling like you're screaming. Definitely recommend the black and white waffles!!

Found this place by accident, when we just wanted to sit down with a friend and enjoy a quiet moment. The initial impression is that it's a gloomy place, and the lighting and layout don't help - imagine a run-down, down-market version of Juliette et Chocolat. However, it's worth persisting. We just had a couple of teas and a chocolate,... More

Food- 4 stars Service - 3.5 stars Decor - 3 stars After dinner, my wife and I were looking for a dessert place when we found this place. We were seated efficiently and ordered the Cacao 70 cheesecake and a large semi-sweet hot chocolate. Service was quick and efficient, almost too quick as we felt a bit rushed. The cheesecake... The best crepes I've ever had! My 8 year old daughter was just as happy as her parents for her decaf latte that had art on it!

I was so excited to go check this place out when I saw photos of their fancy waffles on internet. On internet, the portions look huge but when you actually get your plate, the waffle is small. The quality of the chocolate is not great and the waffles taste rubbery and artificial. Not freshly made. Disappointed with the quality for... More

Table of four. They prepared orders separately, I had to wait more than 10 minutes for my order to arrive, while everyone else was in middle of theirs. when I asked about it they told me kitchen is busy!. All orders should arrive at the same time for a group of patrons ordering at the same time! Average quality for... More

We stopped by in here to try their crepes, and were not disappointed. They had lots of chocolatey options, and the chocolate was very rich and tasty.

Astonishing. All chocolate all the time. The food looks beautiful and tastes just as good as it looks. Food was out quickly, our waitress was amazing, and price was reasonable. Would definitely go there every day if I could. Scale from 1-10, Cacao is an 11.

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
