Some of my favourite sushi in Montreal. The quality is on par with restaurants that charge 2x more and the portions are generous - don't worry about leaving hungry! Food is always fresh and I have never been disappointed with an order. Cozy ambiance although if you are in the mood for a fine dining experience look elsewhere. I have... More

I've eaten at Furusato several times over the last 6-7 years and always have been satisfied. This place is run by Japanese, and serves the typical sushi and sashimi. What is more interesting, however is the other dishes. If you are looking for some comfort food, this is the place to go! Reservation recommended for dinner. We reserved right when... More

This cozy restaurant offers a very reasonable lunch. I enjoyed the Udon and my daughter had the Maki sushi special. The food is pretty simple but fresh. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here--there are much better sushi restaurants in Montreal. But it's good comfort food at a good price. The day we were there--at the height... More

Authentic and high quality Japanese restaurant. The udon tastes exactly the same as it does in Japan and the sushi is of high quality too. Staff is all Japanese and are really nice though the food took a bit longer to come than I would have liked.

Went here on a recommendation before catching the Just for Laughs festival in Montreal . Seems like a popular place with the locals as most of the tables were reserved. The appearance inside is a little shabby but the prices were fairly inexpensive. Sushi was fresh and the service very good .If close to the area I would recommend stopping by.

have been coming to Furusato for many years now, I go there pretty regularly since I'm always craving for good Japanese food. This little hidden gem serves authentic Japanese cuisine, it's homey, cozy and my favorite sushi restaurant. They always serve fresh sashimi/sushi, and their hot meals such as tempura udon, oyakodon, unagi don and katsudon are among my favorite... More

Best Japanese restaurant that i've been to on east coast Canada. What makes Furusato stand out are their impeccable service and traditional japanese food that makes you feel like home. The owner is also really humble and his skills in making sushis always amaze me. Your montreal experience won't be complete without trying out this awesome restaurant.

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theatres, and exhibition centres are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
