I am not sure why anyone who thinks that they would like to call their restaurant an Italian Restaurant should be allowed to. Actually, in order to cook Italian food, one must have already eaten Italian food. I am positive that this is definitely the case with Romeo. The atmosphere is great for a few drinks and they could possible... More

Found this wonderful restaurant while visiting Montreal. Close to tourist attraction, good food and good service. Warm and friendly atmosphere.

Food was very good -- we ordered 2 pizzas for 4 of us (we were not starving, so this was sufficient). We ordered the Summer and the Carnivore -- delicious. Wine was also quite delicious, albeit a bit pricey. Our server was friendly -- he did a nice job -- even suggested other places/sites to check out. We sat outside... More

Since people expect different things from a restaurant, I’m usually not surprised that my opinion may differ from others. Occasionally, though, I go to a restaurant and am completely baffled by other perspectives. We hesitated going to Pizzeria Romeo based on some negative reviews; but having eaten there, I find those reviews factually wrong. This is a comfortable restaurant (except... More

I must say, I don't like to write negative reviews. But I went there for dinner and it was disappointed. Food-wise I had the beef bavette and the meat wasn't tender at all. Not very tasteful. Bad evening for the guys in the kitchen. Apparently the pizza is the go-to meal. And my dirty martini was terrible. A lot of... More

Altogether - this was a very very nice place for a pre-theatre dinner. My friend and I shared their Carnivore Pizza - for $16 it wasn't huge - but it was enough for 2 little old ladies. A bit on the spicy side (that's what lovely spicy italian sausage will get you) - and quite filling. The $5 wine by... More

My husband and I are from Key West, FL. There are a lot of things you can find in Key West but Chicago style, deep dish pizza isn't one of them. So, while we were in Montreal, we thought we'd try to find one. We googled 'chicago deep dish pizza Montreal' and found a link for "Best Chicago deep dish... More

We ordered drinks advertised on the sidewalk for $5.00 beers and wine @ 6:50 pm. We were told they couldn't sell only drinks that we had to order food too. We did. When the bill came they charged us full price for the beer and wine because the drinks weren't input into the computer until 7:05 pm. Server refused to... More

Ate here twice on a recent trip to Montreal. Open late for dinner and has large windows which open for almost al fresco dining in good weather. Vegetarian pizza was excellent. Worth a visit if you are in the area. Service was very good.

Terrific service and fun atmosphere framed the dinner service. Veggie app tray was delicious, decent wine list. Pizzas are serviceable - nothing to write home about. Service is great.

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
