Almost every Saturday I try to make it to Chinatown for lunch and some pastries and Asian grocery items .Stopped in for a quick Tonqinaise soup at this restaurant,,,,,just as good as Cali, across the street, but not as busy, fast service, and a delicious chicken soup, the broth was really tasty.Try this place ,menu looked really good also, will be trying dinner here soon.

The noodle dishes are out of this world. If you love Vietnamese food, this is a must. the family that runs it is adorable, so helpful and they provide wonderful service. We want to go again!

Picked this Restaurant out via trip advisor as I was staying near China town. The service was flawless and my two course meal was under $18. On a positive note the Soup looked delicious (on next table) My choices; The vegetable spring rolls were delicious - starter. The main course pork and rice was too dry it really needed a... More

This little hole in the wall restaurant had very good Pho. It doesn't look like much on the outside and the inside does appeal much more. There are a lot of options for Pho and other noodle dishes. The entire menu is pretty large. Monday evening was busy around 630. I had the Chicken Pho and added habernero peppers to... More

My Canh serves terrific Vietnamese food that is value priced. My meal with three companions reminded me of years in NYC, where the very best restaurants in Chinatown did not offer the most luxurious table settings or ambiance. At the end of the day, it was always about the food...especially when I was on a student budget all those years... More

I live in the heart of Montreal (downtown) which by default enables me to try all the restaurants in the area. As per the traditional vietnamese soup, look no further. I've tried all the others in the area, and this is by far the best. Try it!

As the title says, don't judge this place by its appareance, go inside and try the food. What you will find there is one of the best tonkinese soup in Montreal for cheap.

We try to go here every time we're in Montreal. They serve excellent authentic Vietnamese food for a great price, lunch and dinner. I like the chill atmosphere but the service is fast, the food is always hot and tasty, and the waiters are very friendly. All the soups and meals are super delicious, but I recommend trying the Vietnamese... More

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Bakeries, markets, restaurants, and buffets crowd the brightly graffitied streets of Chinatown, the city's aromatic destination for pan-Asian cuisine. Distinguished at its entry points by towering vermillion paifang gates, the compact neighbourhood acts as a focal point for the Chinese community, hectic with educational facilities, cultural centres, acupuncturists, and foreign-language newspapers. Especially vibrant in the warmer months, when the sweet smell of dragon beard candy along the pedestrian walks of Rue de la Gauchetière signal the beginning of the outdoor street fair season, Chinatown is a treasure hunter's dream, with enough knickknack and curiosity shops to tempt even the pickiest shoppers. The convivial vibe picks up after dark, when the area's active nightlife offers evening crowds their choice of drink, dance, and midnight snacks of pho or oysters. Chinatown's mix of new and old, with herbal remedies being sold alongside pop-culture DVDs, gives the area its own animated brand of moxie.
