We received a box of Suite 88 chocolates as a host thank you gift this week and we are still thanking our friends! Definitely going to be back often at Christmas. Each chocolate is quite intense so you only eat a few at a time but they are a delicious accompaniment to my daily espresso! Montreal is competitive about chocolate... More

Came in because of the review, they really only do chocolate, the girl behind the counter recommended waffle with chocolate dressing, too sweet for me, but their bathroom is very clean!

It's is a little shop with a few tables to enjoy a sweet whimp. The brownie was not as good as I expected, the Oreos were great but the lavande cookie was a huge surprise ad for me is a must try. The chocolate they sell is premium quality and you can taste it in every bit.

I was having a big sugar rush tonight and I had to go downtown for business so I decided to give a try to Suite 88 Chocolatier. The place is cute, cozy and they have a very good customer service. It was quite busy and they tooked time to answer all my questions. My only negative point ...it was quite... More

You need to stop in for a treat after dinner. Thank goodness we only found this on our last evening or we would have been here every night. I had the chocolate brownie with pecans and my friend had a chocolate cake with pralines and pecans. They were both decadent. We also sampled apple slices dipped in chocolate covered with... More

Suite 88 is close to our hotel in Mont Royal and it is a nice stroll after dinner for some gelato. There are a few tables on the sidewalk which is great for people watching and enjoy dessert and coffee after dinner. We stayed indoors as we like the air condition, the interior ambience of the coffee and chocolatier shop... More

Take a look at the ingredient label on the lovely chocolate boxes in this shop and the first ingredient is sugar, not cocoa. Also, the percentage of cocoa is not provided - two signs of cloyingly-sweet confections. Skip this shop and go to Divine Chocolatier, famous for its homemade Belgian chocolates - especially the dark chocolate truffles that have been... More

I was hoping for an iced mocha, but they didn't have it so I had a tasty iced latte and a truffle. It was a delicious truffle. A nice stop.

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
