Great location for those attending Centre Bell shows, 10 minute walk. Food was good value, service a bit slow, the place was only half full, but we were not in a hurry. Friendly server. Across the street from the Novatel Hotel and Le Crystal on Le Montagne.

We stopped here before heading to he Bell Centre for a Habs vs Leafs game. The place was packed, but the waitstaff got us seated right away. We ended up sitting at the bar. The guys behind the bar were all very fast, efficient, and friendly. The kilts they were wearing were fun too!! The food was classic pub fare... More

On a business trip. Always happy to try different places. And pubs are always good with me, especially the Irish ones. We were a bit early, so ahead of the crowd. Got a good place to sit and friendly advice on what beer to pick. Got a soup that was complimentary with my main dish. Which was curry with lamb... More

As visitors from out of town we came upon this pub for lunch one Sunday afternoon after receiving a less than welcoming experience from another pub in the area, which we often frequent when in town. The service and food were exceptional! The ambience was warm and inviting. We not only ate lunch there, but came back later in the... More

We ducked in the Ye Olde Orchard Pub on a Saturday night during a downpour of rain. Staff was very welcoming and friendly. The beer was poured perfect. The fish and chips were delicious. Very lively crowd. Good time would go back again on next visit.

Awful first impression for an Irish Pub. The food was not good and the service really bad. The waitress were slow and not professional at all. I'm really disappointed and sorry for the "Irish Pub" but I do NOT recommend this restaurant.

Popped in to this joint and loved the kilts and general friendly atmosphere. It was also comedy night with limited success on the part of the comedians who had a 5 min spot each

Situated directly opposite the Novotel, we visited twice, once for a drink, the second for a meal. A typical sports bar with numerous screens (showing Euro 16 at the time of our visit). Screens are on silent. The Monday night we went, there was a quiz on. We didn't participate, but It was fun to listen to. Having browsed the... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
