This is the place for traditional Italian pastry! There is everything you can ask for, including the unchanged 50's decor. Try the almond cake!

We walked for miles to visit this bakery and it was well worth it. A variety of marzipan cookies and pastries which were delicious. The woman who works there is quite nice which made the entire experience a pleasure. 4 1/2 stars.

I have not tried cannoli in Italy but I have had them in other countries and always found the filling to be dense and excessively sweet and the outside sometimes not very crisp. I still would say I am not the biggest fan of ricotta but this one was filled to order, crisp and much lighter and flavourful than I... More

A local resident recommended we visit this bakery located a short walk from the Jean Talon Market. The best cannoli I have ever had. My husband indulged in a couple of marzipan treats that were deluxe. Generations of families have purchased pastries and cakes here - and there is a good reason! Worth finding this gem.

Best Italian Pasticceria in Montreal. They have a variety of Neapolitan and southern Italian pastry and cake. The woman at the counter was so lovely and helpful. P.s: Their Baba` is so delicious and the Neapolitan Sfogliatelle are incredible.

Stopped here as part of the Fitz and Fallwell food tour. Good stop, located in the middle of little Italy in Montreal. The cannoli was very good. The shell was fresh and crisp, the filling was whipped and delicious. I have not had this type before. Much lighter than I have had, I liked it.

Stop for a coffee and a pastry or bring home a box of pastries, whatever you do, just get there! Fresh and I mean fresh. Absolutely the best Italian pastry available to the mere mortal in Montreal. You don't even need to know the exact address, just follow your nose to rue Dante. Not much in the way of interior... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie
Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie has one of Canada's most prominent Italian communities, with Little Italy concentrated along the convivial bends of Saint-Lawrence Boulevard. Known for its fantastic bars and authentic Italian fare, the domain includes the Jean-Talon Market, the largest public market in North America. Open year-round, sunny months see fruit and vegetable stalls set up outside the main chalet, while blustery weather draws crowds indoors to meat and cheese sellers, spices and truffles stalls, and for regional delicacies such as rare Charlevoix lamb. While the market dictates what's fresh for local restaurateurs, visitors can please more than their palates, taking in the Renaissance architecture and frescos of Madonna della Difesa, the picturesque Rue Saint-Rominique with its cheerful homes and splendid gardens, or the ornamented thoroughfare of Plaza Saint-Hubert.
