We had breakfast here when we were in Montreal. The interior of the place was very nice. I had the omelette called Southwest Sunrise which was absolutely amazing. I also ordered two double coffees, but I must say I was disappointed by its size cause they definitely didn't look like the double ones. Our waiter was not so attentive, he... More

As soon as we walked in we were politely greeted and sat almost immediately. The staff was great and always checking to see if we needed anything. The food was delicious and served quickly.

If you come to Montreal get down to Eggspectations for some of their famous pancakes. It's a must! The food is delicious and the portions are enormous. Its located in a beautiful spot and the decor of the restaurant is lovely. The staff are very friendly and polite, A real show of the famous Canadian hospitality. My partner and I... More

Brunch on a rainy Sunday... we forgot all about the weather once we dove into our food. If you don't order the Green Light from the juice bar you are really missing out. Their espresso macchiato was lovely, and the French Toast Flambe was perfection. The presentation of their dishes is so pretty. There is a good mix of healthy/indulgent... More

I decided to try the Eggs Benedict, It was cold, and the sauce not tasty. The waiter was very nice. He had them do another plate for me, this one came and the egg whites weren't cooked. Still the sauce was tasteless. He came over, saw the not so happy look on my face and suggested something else. Very nice... More

Hi Sharonreviews2016, Thank you for taking the time to review us. We're sorry to hear about your recent experience. If there's one thing we are proud of, it's our breakfast, so we are terribly disappointed to hear that the Eggs Benedict you received was anything less than delicious. We take great pride in all of the food that we serve,... More

Best service in Montreal thus far, having said that the bar is pretty low. We had a great waitress who spoke English, was kind and courteous. There were a couple of mistakes with our order but she fixed them right away without issue. She was attentive and it's been our best restaurant experience so far in Montreal. Food was good.... More

We had delicious food - the classic eggs benedict are just incredible! We also had waffles which were incredible. Everything was just wonderful! Don't even think about missing this place if you are in Montreal!!

What is not to love about Eggspectation? As an American breakfast lover who finds our great nation can be short on breakfast restaurants beyond fast food, diners and takeaways (not that anything is wrong with those, because they are amazing in their own right!), I was delighted to start my day at a place like Eggspectation. It offered a woodsy,... More

Eggspectation was a nice place to stop for breakfast. The food was decent enough and quickly prepared. The only real challenge here is that it feels a bit mass-produced (especially evident if you are sitting near the kitchen). Given that we were there on a Saturday morning when the place was packed, but had breakfast within 10 minutes of ordering,... More

Staying in Quartier des Spectacles

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theatres, and exhibition centres are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
