I haven't been here in a while but I always used to go out late to get their ginger lobster, salt n pepper shrimp, and sesame beef. Pm. I'm not a lobster fan but I always loved theirs

Had dinner there, a few times, real good food and affordable. Soups are amazing and plenty of ingredients. I'll go there again for sure.

This is one of the very first restaurants you see when approaching Chinatown. It's on a corner building. Unluckily I didn't get to see much of the surroundings as we were in a hurry to meet some friends, whose favorite restaurant this is. They have one dish: an eggplant platter cooked as if it were fish, with caramelized eggplant that... More

I went to Beijing multiple times and was always satisfied. The shrimp balls, peanut dumplings and won ton soups are great and the service is always quick. The only thing that threw me off was that the last time I went I didnt have any $ on me and they didn't take debit payments so I had to run across... More

Was there with friends and I was facing the bathroom and watched a employee from the kitchen come out of the bathroom without wasing her hands. She then stood 5' away from me and starting scratching under her bare arms as she was chatting with another employee then returned to the kitchen. Also in the men's bathroom they did not... More

It's hard to overstate my admiration for this wonderful restaurant. It's my wife and a couple of friends "go to" place when in need of top notch Cantonese seafood. The freshness of the seafood never ceases to amaze us. The Black Bean Sauce is something..., sexy! Indeed, I don't think we've ever had, in all our many visits a bad... More

My friend and I ordered wonton soup and a veggie dish. The wonton filling was dry and tasteless, soup very bland. The veggie dish was snow pea shoots with needle mash room and dried scallops, which was just ok, though we didn't understand why it's priced as 'seasonal' as all ingredients can be found all year round in Asian market.... This casual Chinese restaurant in Montreal's Chinatown boasts efficient, courteous service and good food. Nothing fancy, but flavourful. The General Tao chicken and creamy corn soup were tasty. Orange slices are served at the end of your meal. Worth a visit if you have a hankering for Chinese food while in Montreal.

My husband and I were visiting Montreal from Dallas Texas, and we found a jewel of a Chinese restaurant. It is located in Chinatown, Montreal, and the name of the restaurant is Beijing. The food as so delicious and plentiful. We had dinner there for three nights on our trip, because of the food, and the service. One night, we... More

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Bakeries, markets, restaurants, and buffets crowd the brightly graffitied streets of Chinatown, the city's aromatic destination for pan-Asian cuisine. Distinguished at its entry points by towering vermillion paifang gates, the compact neighbourhood acts as a focal point for the Chinese community, hectic with educational facilities, cultural centres, acupuncturists, and foreign-language newspapers. Especially vibrant in the warmer months, when the sweet smell of dragon beard candy along the pedestrian walks of Rue de la Gauchetière signal the beginning of the outdoor street fair season, Chinatown is a treasure hunter's dream, with enough knickknack and curiosity shops to tempt even the pickiest shoppers. The convivial vibe picks up after dark, when the area's active nightlife offers evening crowds their choice of drink, dance, and midnight snacks of pho or oysters. Chinatown's mix of new and old, with herbal remedies being sold alongside pop-culture DVDs, gives the area its own animated brand of moxie.
