The food is nothing short of spectacular. Unfortunately we were very crowded where we sat. And it was very warm. But the food service more than made up for it. It is also not inexpensive! Perfectly cooked tenderloin, local raclette cheese, fresh mushrooms. Delicious!

We enjoyed a wonderful evening of delectable dishes last night at Chez Leveque. My husband and I had been there during MTL a Table. While we enjoyed our meals, we were not blown away. Well, last night we were! We were two couples. We had the following: the beets and blue cheese salad was very fresh and delicious. The herring... More

Feels like Paris. Small chairs and big food :) This was a lovely experience. The place is lively and festive but not overdone. I love the artwork. I'm vegan which is tough in French restaurants but they were nice and very accommodating. The coconut sorbet was delicious!

We were nicely greeted and immediately taken to our reserved table. The waiter was nice and pleasant. The food was good, but not outstanding as you are led to believe. We were two couples and three of the four meals were good. However, the fourth meal which was a bavet steak, came medium cooked instead of medium-rare. We pointed it... More

I could tell that this place was going to live up to the great reviews when the wait person took our coats - a sign of good service to come. The set choices using an introductory coupon were not disappointing. The 'Duck and hazelnut terrine' and 'escargot' as appetizers were impressive and the Beef Mignons we had, each prepared differently... More

A bunch of my friends and I were there for a bachelor party. The food was very good but the service was a little slow and the staff wasn't as friendly as they could have been.

Will not be disappointed if you are local for traditional parisian brasserie cooking. Nice outside service in the summer, reasonable selection of wine and decent service. Good but not outstanding. Some place to go if not too particular.

Located on Laurier West in Outremont, a nice local shopping street, Chez Leveque is a French brasserie type of place, in business since the 70's at least. One of the few in Montreal to have both veal kidneys and sweetbreads on their menu. And both are excellent. Very nice wine list, good service. My regular place for my birthday dinner.... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
