From the moment we arrived, we felt at home...beautifully dressed, warm staff greeted us and wanted to accommodate our every need. First they give you fresh bread and butter, delicious cole slaw and pickles! We heard about this restaurant from an article about Leonard Cohen who frequented this restaurant for many years. We tried their famous chicken soup and lived... More

The best Bone in Filet Mignon you will ever have. Out for dinner with business colleagues in Montreal. At our table, Beef, Lamb, and Cod. All were pleased, and all looking forward to our next visit.

I've been to many steakhouses and I would rate Moishe's as one of the better ones. They're service is great and the restaurant has an old charm which adds to the experience. Definitely worth visiting.

Moishes serves what I believe to be one of the finest dry aged steaks I have ever had. It was cooked perfectly and when it was presented at the table you could just smell that unique dry aged smell emanating from the steak. This is an upscale restaurant and you are going to pay for it but if you want... More

Moshe's is a extremely traditional and old school steak restaurant. Menu is therefore exactly what you'd expect and is mostly steak. Service was a little slow and cold at the beginning but warmed up through the meal (as we continued to order more wine). At the end, service overall was decent (but not amazing). Of course, the key question is...... More

It lived up to expectations. Amazing steaks cooked to perfection. Very old school feel to the place. Very classy. Professional and experienced wait staff. Not an inexpensive place. Makes for a special evening.

The best steak, ever. Period. Amazing! You have to go before you die. Expect a bill of 100$ per person with taxes, sides and wine, but you're gonna have the steak experience of your life.

It has been nearly 20 years since my wife and I were last at Moishe's. We returned recently and were more than pleasantly surprised. The host and wait staff were o accommodating.the chopped liver was better than I remembered. The rib steaks were outstanding. It is wonderful Togo back and the reality exceeds your remembrances.

The service is great and so is the food! My husband had the rib eye which was huge! My step son inhaled the sirloin and my son could only finish 2/3 of the lamb chops but it was a valiant effort! I had shrimp which were delicious... great city and amazing restaurant!

Description
There's a reason Forbes Magazine named us one of the Top 10 Steakhouses in the world. And why Moishes has become a Montreal favorite that has endured over 70 years. We think it's the authentic taste of each one of the old world favorites on our menu.

If you're an old friend, welcome back. We're always delighted to see you. We couldn't have come this far without you. If you haven't yet, we warmly invite you to discover the taste for yourself, at our restaurant overlooking historic Saint-Laurent Boulevard (The Main.)

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
