Smoked meat sandwich is amazing...it just melts in your mouth. Make sure to get the "Super". Great grilled cheese for the kids too.

Very conveniently located downtown, with an original 1970s decor that delivers a nice dose of authenticity. To check off the two essential Montreal food experiences in one efficient meal, I picked up a smoked meat poutine for takeaway. Not knowing the sizes (small and large are offered), I ordered a large. Literally pounds of fries and cheese curds, completely blanketed... More

Great sandwich and great friendly service at Reuben's deli. Arrive hungry and leave at least satisfied if not downright FULL. We had a great lunch!

The menu is plenty big for any taste. I anticipated having the famed cheese cake but ran out of space for it after the Smoked Meat sandwich. My wife had the Santa Fe wrap. We went at 2pm and the place was not busy and the service was fast. The food was tasty and the portion was filling. We plan... More

I decided to come here for breakfast today. I've been here dozens of times for the smoke meat special (they keep increasing the special by $1 every year...). The smoke meat meal that I've had before is quite good but has been getting too expensive that I just don't think it's worth the price anymore - $12,95 + tip. No... More

I had the Reubens sandwich and poutine. It was all very good. Way more food than I could eat and I was too full for a slice of cheesecake. The cheesecake was huge and looked so delicious! I'll have to go back just for cheesecake some time.

I went there for breakfast and ordered the Big breakfast for $6.99. It included 2 eggs, bacon or sausage, fruit, home fries, and toast. The food and service was excellent. I wish I could have tried their strawberry cheese cake!

If you are looking for a small portion quick lunch....stay away. Reuben's is the place to have a full size North American lunch or dinner and get completely stuffed ! Yes, portions are large but the food is good. For a change, I tried the Jack Daniel marinated beef tenderloin. The portion was just right, and the taste was great.... More

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
