We went there for a New Year party, decent prices, delicious food. Very friendly people. Fado early morning.

The recipes are not bad, and I would recommend their green soup in particular. The grilled cod, a typical Portuguese course, is a bit dry, but the fish seemed fresh and the sides were ok. The choice of wines is fine, and so is the service, but it is a bit too pricey, for the average quality of food which... More
We had our office Christmas party at Solmar on December 22, 2016. We all had a fabulous dinner. We had lots of tapas And then we each ordered our individual meals. We had the seafood rice, lobster, filet mignon dishes. The food was delicious and the service was fantastic. Thank you David Jr. for making our dinner a memorable one.
The restaurant was quite crowded when we were there for lunch, but managed to get an outside table which was quite nice in the Summer. Lots of daily specials to choose from. We had the mussels with frites and the duck confit. Both were delicious. Would definitely go here again.
I have been here a number of times over the years when we travel to this area - outside needs restoration, but the inside (now new owners) is just as it always is, nice, clean, waiters are on you as soon as you walk in, tend to your every need - chat when they need to with pleasure - I... More
If you visit foreign destinations and want to sample different cuisines you don't find at home try this. Portuguese cuisine featuring a tapas menu with shrimp in garlic, grilled octopus and a trio of smoked salmon, canard breast and prosciutto. Along with these tapas they have a full entree menu. Try the house wines, they are great.

My wife's chair was pulled out for her. A dying art of manners. Our waiter, Anthony, was a professional, a true artist at his craft. We've eaten in hundreds of... More
Sadly the place was mostly empty but the service was wonderful. Manuel was a wonderful host and the fado music was played throughout the night. Food was tasty but not the best portuguese food i've ever had. Very good overall
Excellent food prepared in a french style at this restaurant, part of the SOLMAR facility on St. Paul. The restaurant specializes in game, but we found excellent maple pork tenderloin to be just perfect.
