Julian at Verses made a mundane Monday night in Montreal extra special. Attentive and interested matched by great knowledge of menu and wine pairings made him a special gem in the world of restaurant service. The food was excellent and good - stunning starter of...More

We have stayed at the Nelligan in the past and perhaps my expectations were a bit too high but our brunch was simply so so. Nothing really special and I don't know that I would return for brunch. The service was on par but I...More

We chose the seafood platter for two. The variety and freshness of the seafood was excellent. The service was top notch .

We had dinner and two breakfasts (continental, American) at Verses while staying in its adjacent Hotel Nelligan. The dinner was superb. My filet was done to perfection; my wife's salmon as well. For appetizers her pea soup and my foie gras were just fine.

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Verses. It is part of a small hotel but you would never know it. Located in charming old town Montreal, we had a window table that made for great people watching. The servers were helpful and attentive but not...More

We had a fabulous brunch here. Waiter was terrific...told us about rooftop bar open based on weather. Unfortunately when we came back it was full and we moved on.

It's a cavernous restaurant with plenty of room around you, romantic. No one hitting your table while walking by. This was probably our favorite restaurant on this trip. Food is delicious , service was excellent and price wasn't too high. Well, as much as can...More

It was my first experience eating at Verses. I went there on a date. It's an appropriate setting for dates, friends, and business. Located in the old port convenient for a nice walk afterwards. If you're driving parking can be difficult on the weekends. The...More

Small food served cold (should have been hot). Inattentive wait staff. Cavernous, noisy room. Nothing special but the hype.

Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic centre of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to
some of the city's most antiquated buildings and
picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St.
Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums,
festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a
celebrated part of the city that explodes into
fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its
centre, street performers and artists compete with

Contemporary flavours on old St. Paul Street-it's refined, French-inspired and market-fresh. The intimate ambiance, accented by a working fireplace and impressive glass wine cellar, is a fixture in old Montreal. Ingredients are always locally sourced and the menu consistently boasts the freshest produce. The wine list is extensive and palatably priced. Enjoy the moment. We'll take care of the rest.
