The place was packed when we went in so we just popped in the back to buy bagels. They have an open kitchen where you can watch the bagels being baked in the large stone oven. It smelt amazing in there. The bagels were full...More

I am from Montreal and moved away - everytime I go back I make it my mission to get at least 24 bagels. They're SO fresh, hot and delicious, they almost melt in your mouth.

Bagels were okay, nothing special. Not sure why the long lines. Liked the flavor of the rosemary bagel. No place to sit and eat inside or outside. If you are choosing between St-Viateur Bagel or Fairmount, def. go to Fairmount. Fairmount has really nice benches...More

Thank you for the experience of what a bagel can and should be. Although, i have to say that I’m ruined now. I can’t go to my local chain bagel shops. It’s not the same. A warm sesame bagel from St-Viateur with some Liberte cream...More

The bagels were not quite what we were expecting. They have a rustic flavor which could almost be described as biblical. We tried a half dozen original bagels as well as some toasted bagels with cream cheese - one cinnamon and one rosemary sea salt...More

I walked a 5 mile round trip to both here and the Fairmount Bagel shop. The two top rated bagel shops. Bottom line, both are really close in flavor. And both were nothing special. And it definitely not worth the hike.

A must see and do and have when in Montreal! Great bagels, fresh and hot everyday. Take a stroll in Mile End neighbourhood while you're there.

this is not a NY bagel. Montreal bagels are smaller, flatter and just, well, different - and you have to try one before you go home. this is the best place to get one (or the other St. Viateur on Monkland Ave in NDG). try...More

These are our favourite bagels in Montreal! We had a delicious breakfast of coffee and bagel sandwiches. We came back a few days later to purchase a dozen bagels to take home.

Long lines moves fast, lots of banter between clients while waiting. 100% worth waiting for. Lots of choice plus all the fixings, lox, cream cheesees, butter, poppy eeds, sesame, all seasoned, etc you have to experience being there.

Outremont, a quaint residential district just north of
Downtown, is a peaceful, low-key setting known for its

territory Montreal has to offer. Visitors can explore
the flowering parks and manor estates of Maplewood
Street, then window-shop the popular bakeries and
coffeehouses on main arteries of Chemin de la
