I cannot express how much I enjoyed this meal. Honestly, it was the BEST sushi experience I have ever had. Each dish that arrived was a new discovery filed with flavours and textures. The chef is a true artist both as far as taste and presentation are concerned. The waiters were exceptional paying attention to every detail. The way the... More

I went here on New Years Eve and it was really packed with people. I loved the modern decor and wall design that makes you feel like you're eating inside a snow covered forest. The food was very inventive, definitely not your traditional Japanese cuisine but I enjoyed the creativity and would recommend giving it a try.

I visited this restaurant for the first time this week. I went for a business lunch as it was recommended by a friend. They close at 2 PM and we arrived at 1:30. We felt a little rushed but that was fine. The menu is quite exotic and although they have your typical maki's and sushi's it's not prepared the... More

Everything here is fresh and prepared to authentic Japanese perfection. I brought my gf (now ex) here to celebrate a business accomplishment. It was memorable. Because of the popularity of this place, an ex pursuer of hers was there, recognized her and was super jealous. That made the dessert all the more memorable. This place isn't cheap but I think... The appetizers are all brilliant french-japanese fusion dishes. The sushi and sashimi is first class. The ambiance feutrée. The service: attentif.

We visited this place for a friends Birthday as she had heard good things and wanted to try it out. Arrived and got pretty much ignored by the staff- eventually got seated and brought some water. 35 minutes later after being ignored by the other waiters, ours came over and we managed to finally get some drinks ordered and some... We enjoyed Sushi prepared creatively unlike any other Japanese restaurant. Dishes were the perfect marriage of fresh fish/seafood & unbelievable combination of vegetables, flavors/spices! Each plate was a work of art prepared to perfection! We were lucky enough to sit at the bar and thoroughly enjoyed watching the Chefs prepare mouthwatering sushi. Service was outstanding, Jonathan offered excellent recommendations and... More

My mouth starts watering as soon as I land in Montreal, and jet lagged or not this is where I go as soon as I check into my hotel. Exquisite Japanese food, original dishes prepared with so much care. Nothing tastes like the freshness of Juni's seafood and that seaweed sushi wrap just melts in your mouth (not at all... More

Very good sushi but a bit on the expensive side. Do expect a bill around 250$ for 2 (taxes and tip included).

On a street going through a bit of a revival close to but not in downtown Montreal. The only reason I found this place is through a local who grew up in the neighborhood. The outside doesn't particularly catch your attention. You need to know the exact address otherwise you'll likely miss it. The interior decor is very modern, sort... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
