Mesa 14 is an elegant yet casual spot to enjoy authentic Mexican cuisine at a reasonable price. Every plate is made with love and the service staff truly take pride in serving you. I cannot give a better review. If you're in the downtown core, be it a couple or a large group, Mesa 14 is your hidden oasis on... More

Great good and friendly service. Our favorite Mexican eatery in Montreal. Easy to get to off St. Catherine.

Odd to find a great Mexican restaurant in the middle of french cuisine heaven... We ordered the Fajitas de Camarones and a Fresh Mexican salad. Both were excellent and the service was just right...friendly and helpful, but giving us our space.

There are not many Mexican food places in Montreal, but when we want a good meal we always go to Mesa 14. It has bee around a long time and quality is consistent and good. Staff are really friendly and they make good margaritas also.

As per usual in Montreal a most delightful welcome and here particularly sweet-natured service. However, the food was Mexican "by numbers". It lacked heart, oomph, aagh and any sense of punch. Could it be that chilli is omitted deliberately or was this a really forgetful night in the kitchen? Also, not sure that Margaritas need to be served (and drunk)... More

We have loved visiting this restaurant on Bishop Street since it's early days as Mexicali Rosa's and are always relieved that it continues to offer Mexican food. I have to say, without a doubt, the fish tacos we had were the best fish tacos we have ever had. They were absolutely delicious and it will be the first restaurant I'll... More

We ate here during our 2015 vacation to Montreal and decided to go here again this year. When we arrived the bartender seated us promptly and we were given a seat in the back area. The server, Chelsea, came right away and was a great server throughout our meal. The food here is authentic Mexican food and is really tasty.... More

We tried this place one evening as we wanted something a little different so decided to go Mexican. The food was good and arrived quickly. Was fairly quiet when we were there though. Nice surroundings and attentive staff made for an all around good experience.

I used to come here with friends often a few years back and always loved it. I recently moved back to Montreal and couldn't wait to come back. Unfortunately I was extremely disappointed this time around. I have come twice in the last month, hoping I had just caught an off night the first time back. The service is slow,... More

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
