Being this place specializes in freshly made croissants, they make a hell of a good one! Baffled by the reviews from others complaining about service or mishap irrelevant to the place. So if your looking for a great coffee and croissant then stop by.)

Besides the nice patio, this place has the worst service and food in Montreal. Their croissants are not fresh and hard as a rock, their coffee is awful, and their food is generic that you are better off making it yourself at home. The waitresses are rude and amateur and ignore you the whole time. A place to avoid. Don't... More

No visit back to my home city of Montreal is complete without breakfast at La Croissanterie Figaro. The bistro menu is eclectic and original, the cafe au lait is excellent (dans un bol ou dans une tasse), and the ambience is effortlessly beguiling. Staff are hip and accommodating, if a bit distracted at times - compensated for by the fact... More

As I was having a beer outside, one of the patio umbrellas fell and hit me over the head. Afterwards the waitress had the nerve to ask for a tip. She may not have seen the accident and when I explained, it's possible she didn't really understand English. However I know enough French to tell her what happened; she still... More

Slow and unfriendly service. Food looked like it had been on the heating lamp too long - couldn't identify any vegetables in my so called pizza except for a gray piece of broccoli. I live in the area and can't explain why I choose to eat there with another couple when there are so many excellent places to have lunch... More

We had a great dinner at Le Figaro. We ordered different salads, everything was impeccably fresh, nicely prepared and arranged. Warm bread served with salads was very tasty.Local beer and great French Rose wine were also good. At the end, we went for deserts and haven't been disappointed. Crème brûlée was absolutely delicious and Rum and Chocolate (!) croissant was... More

We visited Le Figaro last Friday as part of our Montreal long weekend for our cousins wedding. This was our Friday night cousins dinner to all meet up and chat before the big day the following day. The restaurant was easy for us to find and access from the transit system (not going to try and park in that area... More

Service was slow and disorganized. The food not very good and sandwich was burnt. Cute decor and pretty outdoor seating but not worth going back

Staying in Outremont

Neighbourhood Profile
Outremont, a quaint residential district just north of Downtown, is a peaceful, low-key setting known for its mod cafes and bistros, and some of the best walking territory Montreal has to offer. Visitors can explore the flowering parks and manor estates of Maplewood Street, then window-shop the popular bakeries and coffeehouses on main arteries of Chemin de la Côte-Sainte-Catherine and Rue Van Horne. The modern granola feel is complemented by contemporary art exhibitions, rotating theatre productions, and a welcoming public library. Also a nexus for the city's Hasidic Jewish culture, Outremont's diversity resounds in its cuisine and in its architecture. Visit the colorful neighbourhood to take advantage of boutique shopping on Avenue Laurier, or to test the artisanal flavors of Avenue Bernard, braving a salmon burger on a squid-ink bun or accommodating your sweet tooth with a provincial chômeur pudding. A visit to Outremont is a relaxing day.
