I have been to Spain and eaten at many Spanish restaurants both in Spain and around North America. We had four tapas and sangria. Shrimp wrapped in Serrano came with only one shrimp for the entire platter, Serrano tasted old. Fried calamari tasted as if it was cooked from frozen. Octopus gallacia was not fresh. Tortilla was the only average... More

I am a tapas snob. I have been all over Spain and have had true tapas. And while the term is getting watered down with places featuring anything in a small plate format tapas (which is, by definition true), I keep coming back to Spanish tapas. They are located on a very busy, restaurant packed, street. So competition abounds. They... More

We went there for dinner on a busy sunday night. Wanted to eat outside on a terrasse with the kids. TAPAS was a great option to share. We tried the tasting menu for two wich included : parmesan fondue, grilled peppers, chorizo, calamari and a few other things. Overall good food, nothing spectacular or out of the ordinary, fair for... More

After an afternoon of shopping, we called for a last-minute reservation (not really needed) and chose to park at the hotel underground parking ($7.00). The atmosphere on Grande-Allée was festive as it was a beautiful summer evening and all the terrasses of surrounding restaurants were full . Customers didn't have to wait long to get a table - we arrived... More

Stopped into Copas Restaurant for tapas and dinner during our recent trip to Quebec City. Having spent a year in Spain during my college years, I'm always looking for good Spanish tapas. We sat outside on the terrace right on Grande Allee, which was nice. The waiter was friendly and allowed us to sample a Rose` before purchasing. The tapas... More

We shared a plate of tapas and watched people strolling by. The food was okay to very good (eight different tapas), the light Sangria was tasty, and the atmosphere was wonderful. A pleasant way to pass the evening. The small pitcher of Sangria and the tapas for two was a full meal.

Three of us ordered six tapas, as a start of our meal. Of the six, two were okay and the other four were a huge disappointment. The chicken was bland, the chickpeas had no taste, the shrimp were chewy, and the fourth dish was so memorable that I can't remember what it was. The mussels were tasty. When we saw... More

This was right across from our hotel so we gave it a try. We were greeted by a lovely lady outside the restaurant who explained us the menu. Once incide, I loved the ambiance. Our server was simply awesome. We came there with a young kid and a baby and he went out of his way to accomodate us. Thinking... More

We ate there for New Year's Eve. Service was great, wine was excellent and affordable, Marquez de Riscal, red, Tempranillo. I had a steak, and so did my daughter. Born in Argentina, I know what good meat taste like, and we were both happy with our selection. My wife and my older daughter had Paella, it was just ok. Nice... More

Although we stayed inside Old Quebec, we ventured for a walk beyond the walled city to investigate the local fine dining establishments. It was a Wednesday night, rainy and businesses along the Grande Allee were deads-ville. Many of them did have some of the "gatherers" that I spoke of in other restaurant reviews.(Host/Hostess who goes out to the street menu... More
