We did the Quebec routine and were cold and peckish. We were told by the carriage driver to go there for the Sugar Pie. We did. Two coffee and two pieces of Sugar pie... $32.00 plus tip. Ugh. But remember where we are so...viva Quebec. P.s. pie and coffee were AWESOME!!!!

All the food and wine I had here was delicious, but the best dish was Grandma's pea soup. Even if you can't afford a full meal (although it wasn't exhorbitant), stop in for this soup (and this is coming from someone who dislikes split pea soup).

On the first night of my second visit to Quebec City, a dear friend and I wandered into the old town after a short venture along Saint - Louis, and a walk along the Plains de Abraham promenade with its gorgeous views of the St. Lawrence River from the upper village. It was a gorgeous, clear and cold early Carnaval... More

The restaurant is quaint offering the history that you are looking for when you visit Old Quebec.Get there before 4:45 and there is a reasonably price menu otherwise not so much. Neither my friend or I are in to big game meats so we are paying too much for menu items we could get in lots of restaurants. Portions were... More

If you look for real traditional dishes, that's the place to be. You can try many good meat as the deer, the buck or the prairie bull. More over, you will appreciate the ambiance and the decor. the restaurant, in fact, is in an very very old house in the heart of the ild Québec, at the next door of... More

The Bison stew was chewy, menu was expensive, poutine was- limp? Dry? We had just come off a weekend of fantastic food at every location- this was the least impressive place we visited. I really loved the history of the building & was impressed with the Maitre-D.

With the promise of eating exotic animals like stag, bison, and elk, we went to Aux Anciens Canadiens with high expectations. The restaurant was highly recommended by our hotel clerk as well. Great atmosphere and excellent service. The restaurant gives off an "old Canadien" vibe and you feel transported to Quebec of 200 years past. Big pluses for that. Good... More

We were two couples with an infant seeking warmth and good food on a cold bitter day. What a find--a fireplace, wonderful country food that has stood the test of time and great Quebec beer selection all made for a perfect mid afternoon lunch. And, the service--magnifique!!!!! Thanks restaurant staff for a memorable experience.

It was snowing gently, big ol' flat flakes coming down out of the jet black sky and we walked under the imposing gate of the massive walls of Quebec City. Shortly we found this delightful and charming restaurant. We enjoyed a veritable feast in a different tradition from American roast beef! It was a great treat, maybe something we will... More

We went there during Winter Carnival. The food was outstanding along with the service. The atmosphere is clean and neat and very traditional. The food was excellent. The menu contained a large amount of French Canadian traditional meals. I had the Grandma's Surprise which was excellent. We had been there during a previous visit at sat at the bar during... More
